PVP Tie Question

Ok, so I was rank 46 with 658 points and <1m to go on Fatal Attraction. End result: rank 51 with 658 points. I realize the last few minutes of an event are nuts and normally I wouldn't gripe, but in my bracket that tied me up for rank 50, yet I got rank 51. Which is heart breaking because my bracketing for the majority of season 1 landed me in top 250. Is my win/loss rate somehow factored in? Is that how are ties broken in PVP?

This is a great question. I got edged out of top ten on a tie once when I was shielded; I assumed that the person who reached the point value most recently took the spot. Then I heard a report from another forumite about just the opposite situation happening, so the temporal order in which you reach that point may be completely irrelevant.

The tie is supposed to be broken in favor of the person who reached the score first.
