Mana costs of melded creatures

Melded creatures should have assigned mana costs of at least the lesser one of the two creatures.

Although it turned out to be very fortunate for me, I shouldn't be able to exale Brisela with Baffling End. Both of the creatures cost minimum 12, but the melded Brisela only 1.

Could I take it over with Claim the Firstborn?
