The Token Removal Bug is Really Starting to Affect My Enjoyment of the Game

It’s happening waaaaaay too often.  I know it’s been there for a long time, but I used to get it like once per 3 events.  I had it happen THREE times in Rise of Adventure.

I didn’t lose a match, and still only got a 108 because of 3 token removal locks. The 2 points that I “actually” missed were in a fight vs Nissa, where I had to choose between winning the match early, or using Token Removal to extend the game, risking a crash.  I chose to take my 8 points and get out.

Fixing this needs to be THE top priority, in my opinion.

@jobob - You can be sure the devs are all over this bug. Sadly, they didn’t have a clue what was wrong and they needed a lot more data before they found out what was wrong.

Now, I’m hoping they are in the final stages of testing, so the announced maintenance period on Tuesday will include a fix to this.

However, don’t hold your breath, because when something so fundamental as this breaks, it is most likely a result of a patched code that is incoherent and patchy, so it smells of a re-engineering thing.

Strangely enough, I didn't have any problems with tokens this time.
I was using Silence the Believers to exile a Forests stack by Nissa4, I used my own creature to replace a stack of Insects on the bottom node, no problems at all.
I did have a token-related problem in HxB last week tho, when Greg's Clackbridge Troll created a Goat token under my control and I then played Yorion who exiled it. Probably, the problem was that Yorion was also supposed to bring it back, and it does not work with tokens.

Another perfect ruined by the token bug. So much for that idea.  Maybe the next maintenance

Well, my coalition reported loads of problems, but I didn’t experience anything, so it is totally random whether you meet an opponent that has tokens in their deck and whether Greg will manage to get them out before you win the game.

MTGPQ a game of skill on how to avoid the bugs #sarcasm.

In multiple Bug forum threads, they have reported it will be fixed in 4.8 (which I assume will be at the same time the next set comes out, but that's just me guessing).

    Hi everyone,

The fix for the tokens issue is scheduled for the 4.8 release.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to apply the fix earlier.

We apologize and thank you for your patience,
    Marcela.

The thing I don't understand is the inconsistency... Why some players have problems.and other don't.? I've watched countless videos of players getting softlocks when bouncing, exiling, destroying, switching creatures and even just thinking  about tokens......

but I have NEVER had a problem with tokens. I never run token decks in coalition events for the sake of others  having these problems.. But when I encounter them, I destroy them, bounce them exile them and I have never had a  single problem..

it's the inconsistency  that makes these bugs (advanced puzzles) so inconvenient.

avoiding bugs is just "advanced puzzle" mechanics lol
