Losing team from top pvp node after skipping another

When preparing to hop in pvp, I make sure I have beatable teams on all three nodes.

I beat the left node, then looked at the next team there.  Skipped that and looked again at the left node for another team I liked.
I then backed out of that team, and went to the top node, where I knew I had a Dr Strange team lined up.  It wasn't there, had some other random team instead.

This has happened twice this morning - after playing and skipping on one node, the team that should be on one of the other untouched nodes is gone.
