Nissa deck whose turn never ends (please reset if wrong forum)

I thought endless turns were done, but I have played a Nissa 3 deck that has no turn end. It uses a Hydra, Song of Creation, Zendikar's Rising (makes green elementals) and mana makers. I sat for 10 minutes while it took an endless, boring turn. This is a fatal flaw, a deck that breaks the game. It needs IMMEDIATE nerfing because it breaks the game.

Loops are very much a thing in legacy, and loops are not a prohibited thing, hence the loop-timer.

I'm sorry you had a bad game, but it happens.
And you know what? You don't need to sit through all the animations for 10 minutes... You allready lost the game so just concede the match and play a new one.  :)

I actually had a game last week where the loop-timer never kicked in. After letting the game run through my loop for almost 10 minutes I just conceded. Fortunately it wasn’t a first-place-or-bust event.

@andrewvanmarle - there is actually a degenerate deck in standard (that possibly exploits a bug but I’m not sure) which is able to skirt the loop timer, as described above. So it is not only a legacy thing.

I know this because I lost to such a deck and copied it to try to see if there was an actual bug exploit in that deck. Sadly, I have not been able to determine if the bug exists, but the loop is definitely there and it is annoying (to play with and against).

    @Tremayne

The deck the Op described has zendikar rising in it, that is a legacy card (hence assuming the op was playing legacy)

Now if there is a bug with the loop-timer, sure, that should be fixed without a doubt.

But calling to nerf deck because you lost and were too proud to concede?

I'll leave it to you what I think about that.....

@andrewvanmarle - I assumed he meant Zendikar’s Roil (which creates the elementals) and together with the other cards I assumed the deck was standard. So there you go. 😆

Is he calling for a nerf?

I have personally seen the loop timer disappear ahead of time due to another match-5, but I won the match before the next timer was suppose to appear.

    Yup, I quote:

Kindofa knee jerk response, if you ask me. Better answer is to respond to the pw you're up against.

There are atleast three or four cards  that kill loops in standard, archon of emeria comes to mind, so we have answers to these kind of decks.

When I go against nissa 4 I always switch to a denial deck.....

That said, if the loop-timer fails, that's a bug to fix asap

Personally I hope they never nerf  any broken loop or combo.  Broken Puzzle quest  combs gives me nostalgia of being at Friday night magic and destroying players with broken mechanics or being destroyed by their decks. What better way to flex the magic the gathering IP than allowing for broken  combos!

and just like in paper side board you deck for your opponent. Alot of times players will "favorite" the deck they are using in a coalition event. Before the match click on the player and hopefully preview their deck.

And when in doubt, if they are playing with Nissa WW and HAVE any sort of VIP Status... bring the conversion/loop hate!
