Hooray for Avacyn’s Madness!

I just wanted to comment that I really enjoy the Avacyn’s Madness event.
 - My coalition likes this event. 1) They say so, 2) participation is double what we typically have, and 3) more players are scoring more points than needed for progression.
 - As a player with a deep legacy collection, I don’t get to use it as often as I would like, especially in coalition events.
 - The secondary objectives aren’t overly restrictive.
 - I like racking up lots of coalition points. It’s an opportunity to catch up (or widen one’s lead) with coalition members.
 - I enjoy being able to score some xp in the easy nodes.
 - I enjoy having an opportunity to wreck my opponent with some OP minicats in the hard nodes.
 - The rewards are fairly rich in crystals.

I, for one, wouldn’t mind seeing this event run more.

I still find it hilarious (and a bit sad) that the first EVER coalition event is the best and most beloved one we have.
That being said, Avacyn is also my and my coalition's favorite PvE and I wouldn't mind seeing it more often at all.

I wouldn't mind seeing it more often as well.

Even better if they make another event just like it but standard and run it instead of some of the other events we dislike.

Wasnt Nodes of Power the first coalition event? Avacyn's Madness may have been the first boss hp PVE event. Part of why AM is beloved is the reward structure was never changed, so it's the same as it was prior to the first austerity measures the devs implemented.  It was also adjusted to give us 8hr recharge times and essentially eliminate the boss hp aspect of the event, giving it a definitive start/stop time.

TBH, I'm not as much of a fan of AM purely and 100% because I have to make so many decks for it.
    Otherwise, I don't mind it.

I had a saved deck in one of my many planeswalkers for nearly every fight.  I think persistent nightmare and the 3rd fight in the first node were the only ones I had to make adjustments, and even those were only replacing 2-3 cards. A good portion can be done with a good HUF/Deploy deck. I feel like I do more deck building for standard events than anything legacy.

Nodes of Power was the first PvP event (I think the Oath event was the first ever event, but my memory isn't amazing that far back lol).  Coalitions didn't exist until Innistrad, and were implemented with the first run of Avacyn's Madness.  Other events were then made coalition events later on, but the first was Avacyn.
Just for reference and how little things change over time, the first run of Avacyn's Madness with coalitions broke the game so badly it was unplayable and the event had to be restarted a few days later after an emergency patch.  The more things change, the more they stay the same haha.

Oath was definitely the first ever event, I remember playing it once then realizing I couldnt finish it and not touching it again. I dont have first hand experience with coalitions during that time, so I was just going by what the wiki said. I wasnt really actively playing the game during that time.  The first run of coalition events is always a dice roll whether they work first time or not, usually not.

That was truly a unique experience that probably cant be replicated with today's cards. It's just not the same trying to limit yourself/collection for a challenge as apposed to being forced to find a winning strategy with your limited collection. Tezz was part of the reason i sought out an active coalition.

Not only is Avacyn's Madness still a quality event, it's still a challenging one--there are still objectives that even people with extensive Legacy collections can fail on occasion.

One thing I like most about it, and that I wish would be implemented elsewhere, is the "choose your objective" method on the majority of the fights.  I'd much rather deal with AM-style objectives than the "destroy 4 creatures" or "summon 74 creatures with toughness 3 or less" nonsense.

Yep. One of the nice things about the way this is implemented is that for most of the AM objectives it's a "do this fast but difficult one" (e.g. "Win before you take 25 damage") and the secondary option is a longer, grindier, but maybe easier one that you can still switch to, in the middle of the fight, if you fail the first one (e.g. "Win after taking 90 damage.") It's not just the (potential) lack of grind that's nice (although it IS very nice), but the flexibility - fail one objective, you can still go for the other one.
