So the ribbons are 5/5/5 but now progression is 140; so 10 games.

I am not pleased. Discuss.

And what are those 5 mana jewel ... Again?!

If you plan to slowly apply the 5 mana jewel to each and every future and past events ... you'd better simply remove this currency from the game ... At this point it has mostly become a reminder of your  greediness.

Wow...and it's Standard besides so no Ravnica cards can be used in a Ravnica-flavored event. And to think I actually saved my old decks thinking they might have a use again after all once the event progressed to Legacy... :/

That's my conclusion too. They are making everything longer, slower and for less reward. This sounds less and less fun

The FTP is going the way of the dinosaur in this game. You must quit your job and hobbies and devote 2-5 hours of your day playing for the the games required for the rewards.

Since all the events are like this now you have to devote 2-5 hours a day whether you are FTP or not.  All paying does is let you skip grindy events, except all events are grindy now. Paying doesnt suddenly turn these events into something fun to do.

Indeed. I'm currently paying VIP, but if the game continues to be more and more borkng and annoying, I'll go back to FTP, just for trial of the planes and the coalition events.

I think the point is if you spend money you don't actually need to play any events to get a full collection.
Of course some would argue that defeats the purpose, but apparently that's not what Oktagon thinks so *shrug*

If the goal is a full collection, then the current path Oktagon is on is the correct one.  I dont see the purpose of having a full collection if there is nothing to do with it. The only purpose in this game is to play events (story mode was abandoned long ago), getting new cards just makes those events easier/more enjoyable.
Designing every event to be miserable to encourage you to bypass them, encourages you to bypass the entire game. What's the point? A full digital collection is worthless without the core game mechanic of playing events.
Paper magic cards exists to play the game of magic. MTGPQ cards exist to play events. Paper would be nothing if it's core game mechanic (playing magic) was designed like Oktagon's events.

MTGPQ exists to sell you virtual items. The game in MTGPQ is the bare minimum that has to be provided to give those items value.

Fair enough, that really is the reason the app exists. At this point "the game in MTGPQ" is the events, so without them there is no value to those virtual items. Their pursuit to sell us virtual items has eliminated the value in those items.

@critman - what is the 4th icon? Does show up in my UI.

I do not have that warning in my vault or where in the UI do you have that?

Correction to the above info - it does appear to have a Legacy ribbon on the event in the app, so at least there's that. Of course, it's PVP so it's hard to say whether that's good news or not... ;)

That's not the real UI, it's a montage, you Can actually notice that the numbers are not exactly aligned with the original UI.

    @bil - thanks, I obviously didn’t get the joke. 🙃

Well, I tried RT and it seems that my opponent’s counter to the changes was OP decks that sped through the matches without having much chance to win when piloted by Greg. Though, I did loose a match before I decided to change to speed decks also.

So, my original impression of RT as a fun playground for testing odd cards, seems to have been taken over by omniscience and his usual friends, like whir, Gaea and that kind. So combined with the rewards being nerfed, the outlook for playing much RT is grim (unlike in the past, where every event was played completely).

Which reminds me, mastering cards was another good thing about RT, but if your opponent’s play the powerhouses predominately, then playing around with card (and mastering them) becomes rather difficult, since I would like to avoid delaying matches so cascades for Greg wins him the match.

I now see RT as 20 crystals for 2 games ... Which isnt really satisfying for a midweek event ... but definitely more convincing than 40 crystals for 10 perfect games.
