Creatures that become X/X should have buffs aplied AFTER the P/T change

Right now creatures like glass pool mystic, greater eidolon of longing, ashaya, nighthawk scavenger, the demigods, etc but also a spell like hour of need will subtract any buffs to get to the mentioned x/x. Have ember cleave on the table? Too bad....

That isn't how it would or should work: you're a shapeshifter, you copy something bigger than you, and you have this special sword. You aren't then gonna shrink your self a little to account for your magic sword are you?

There’s a “layers” system that accounts for how these things should happen in paper. Very difficult to understand when multiple layers start conflicting, but would be easy to program.

if the developers take a look at how layers work in paper should be easy to port over

The best part is when it winds up killing the creature when it switches slots because of all the -x/-x piled on it to bring it back in line.

    Just love that. Great design.

Yeah I don’t even bother with creatures that “become” a certain stat. They will generally make themselves worse, and they are trap cards for new players. The proverbial “bad card” that this game (Magic, in general) feels the need to make all the time.

The shame is, that this type of creature could be a good thing if all the buffs were added AFTER the change it it's power/toughness....
