The Bright Side

I played so much during the Psylocke event, only to place in the 50-100 range.

I sold all my 2 star and 1 star characters (had a few maxed out) and only kept my 3 stars. My highest 3 stars are level 77, 64, and 43.

I played about 1/4 of the battles in the Heavy Metal event and placed in the 50-100 range.

In the SHIELD Training, I had to skip about 30 teams before I encountered a team that I could beat without maxing buffs. These skipped teams generally consisted of 141lvl characters, so beating them was like asking for a poop-free day (wasn't going to happen).

The Bright Side? I don't understand why this works like this, and when I realize this, I eat some freshly baked cookies. My mouth is then happy, but my stomach is not, so then I go to the gym.

  • Well, selling your 2 star when you only have a lvl 77 3* is a very bad idea. A lvl 77 3 star is even worst than a max out lvl 50 one star in term of ability wise.
Unless you are going to splash some cash into this game( which i would NOT recommend),You need to build a solid 2 star team before transitioning to a 3 star team. You need at least a lvl 100 3 star to feel that they are any better than a lvl 85 2 star.

    Bad decision. Here's why:
    1. You need at least two separate teams to grind it out succesfully, now you only have one, and a very poor one at that.
    2. Level 85 2 star heroes are WAY stronger than level 85 3 star heroes.
    3. Synergy is a lot better than raw power.

    What to do:
    1. Lower your expectations and start building your 2 star team again.
    2. Save up your ISO while collecting covers; only spend ISO when you already have enough covers to lvl up your character to a reasonable level (75+ for 2 stars, 100+ for 3 stars)
    3. Decide what heroes to level up according to: a. the covers you get; b. synergy between heroes. The useful 2* heroes are: Original Black Widow > Thor/Ares/Wolverine > Storm > Magneto > Daken. All the others are junk (well, kind of... they have limited uses but you're never wrong if you stick with the top 7).
    3. If you're out of roster slots, the best investment you can do is buy some HP and unlock more roster slots.
    4. If you have the roster slots, it wouldn't be a bad idea to build your 1 star team again, too (easy to do given the amount of covers we're getting in pvp, and useful for grinding pve and for lone star events). Best heroes: BW, Storm, IM, Jugg.

    Hope this helps!

BW and storm have their uses, but I'm not sure I'd recommend rebuilding a IM, since unlike those 2, his abilities are fairly overshadowed by better characters

The only arguably better character in Lone Star events is Juggernaut. And it costs so little to rebuild IM anyways...

I'm not convinced we're going to ever have another themed tournament, especially a lone star/no mans land, with the cover treadmill that they've been having for the seasons. If they were going to do so, at least one of those multiple krackadooms would have been either a bad is good, or it would have been combined with all the loki giveaways for that god one whose name escapes me.

Too bad, more tournament variety = more fun. Oh, I forgot - D3P are on a crusade to kill off all the fun in MPQ... icon_cry.gif

As I see it, though, I am playing a lot less and receiving the same rewards. And trust me, it's been a lot more fun than playing the same 2-4 teams over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

And no worries, I quit pouring money in this game once I realized the only events were going to be PVP with whatever new 3 star is being released icon_e_biggrin.gif And probably before that!

I appreciate the help, but if I go back to the 2 star route again, I'll be doing the EXACT same thing I have been doing over the last 2 months (endless grinding with the same matches over and over and over and over and over and over and over again) There are no more themed events, so that's no fun.

I would've suggest what I did for everyone (I threw a lot away), but since I did this a few days ago, it's been the only time the game has been interesting in the last few months! icon_e_ugeek.gif
