PVP is broken, everybody knows that, but going into battle with a level 23 IM40 against players with 141lvl is completely nuts. So what they should do to balance pvp is simple and fair, your pvp is classed depending on the strength of the event character, so if you IM40 is 23, you would get battles +- close to 23 in lvl, same if you have a boosted 141, you would be matched up with someone similar to yours.
In heavy metal, my first nod was, 141 IM40 / 141THOR / 141 PATCH and my team was 23 IM40 / 141 PUNI / 128 CMAGS, I skipped about 10 times and only once did I get a lvl 23 IM40, all were over 90, so its very unfair and unpleasant to play right now, FOR A LOT OF PLAYERS. D3 needs to address this and fast before the player starts to quit. THEN, MPQ IS DEAD IN 12 MONTHS.

So what you are saying is if I keeps featured character at rock bottom with the entire rest of my roster at 141 that I should get put up against a bunch of scrubs.

If I have 2 of the featured character which 1 does it go off.

If I'm in a tourney where say lazy cap is featured character. Hypothetically let's say I'm a newish player and lazy cap is 141 but he's my only character over lvl 85, does that mean I should just get pounded by 141's all tourney.

This doesn't seem well thought out.

So your suggestion is to reward people who don't diversify their roster, but only use the same two levelled chars for each PVP.

I tend to agree. I've placed highly in several events where I had a lvl 23 featured character (t5/10). Does it make it harder? Absolutely. But in some cases it can be beneficial, during the LDaken event it was easy to keep using him as a meat shield and never have to worry about using HP's on him. I don't think OP really has a leg to stand on beyond the fact they need to expand their roster or sit out the PVPs that they are outclassed in.

The current PVP structure gives players incentive to have all 3 * on their roster and to level them in order to get advantage in the PVP. Both of these play into the game's revenue model very well, so I wouldn't expect anything to change.

Um, Punisher/cMags? You must know that these two can take on anyone, otherwise why run them in the first place. So lvl 23 or 212 featured character, doesn't matter *TOO* much. Especially since this one is no Psylocke with her cheap moves, but a slower character.
The current tourney is slightly trickier as well because it lacks Jungle/Desert nodes but I've been enjoying it with Patch/cMags. If your IM 40 has a single yellow cover, use him as a battery, he's just a pile of HP with AP generation both offensively and defensively. You probably never see IM 40 outside of his tourneys so let those who leveled him have a short term advantage and take it easy. I usually leave enemy IM 40 for last - mostly harmless.
And yes, however you feel about the system, it encourages players to invest into their rosters, so it won't change. Another good example is when there is a new character tourney and most players only have a loaner to field. Some have a single cover. Some have two-three thanks to being in a strong alliance.
And some opt to upgrade from 1/1/1 straight to a maxed build. It's their choice and they might do better in such tourneys because of their higher leveled featured characters, but it won't matter in the long run. Try to think long term in this game and don't let it make you upset, rather enjoy your path however twisted it might be at times.
  • Yeah man, I'm sure that IM40 is just going to body your Punisher/Mag team icon_rolleyes.gif
  • Seems a lot fairer than what I get frequently: teams with 2+ lvl 141 characters (while I have several at 100 but no higher than that).
