Some cooperation in PVP

I was wondering when you nail someone in PVP what is the main intent, just get some good points to yourself or to make the victim bleed?

For me it is the former most cases, the rare exception being to shoot one in my bracket above me for the position. Even then I only want him go down if that makes a real benefit for my standing that is again rare, it is usually good to hit him AFTER finished the move and shielded up.

In the top range in the final hours many people do shield-hops. My usual method is to skip the nodes for good games well before I make the go, leaving people 10-15 (sometimes over an hour) to finish their go and shield up. So when I play I get the points and they keep them too. It's just so unfun to finish your planned last game to reshield and get a -46 from one not even in the competition yet and obviously started his game right on your unshield. Is it so hard to wait a few minutes really?

  • I typically do my battles 30-60 minutes after I Q them.
Not because I care if my opponent loses points or not, more because I just don't wanna worry about their retaliation during my grind.

Er, the latter is the case that come after.

I think you wanted to say the former here as to refer to you just want to get some good points to yourself.

    Sorry for being a Nazi.

Also, on topic, i usually push up to around 800 then break before i do my final push. I tend to also queue up people and leave it for a while before i hit them. Mostly so that they have a chance to shield, also i will less likely to be retaliated upon if they shield up since i will not be appearing in any node. When i shield jump i also wait 15 minute after i queue someone before i hit him.

My goal is tied to the points the match is worth. I have to remind myself to check the name to ensure I don't hit a member of my alliance when I start my climb. I try my best to stick to only doing matches against opponents higher than myself, obviously for more points, and also if they retaliate before I shield, it reduces my score much less. I also attempt to stick to the secondary goal of skipping forumites when I can, but sometimes the game seems to want to force my hand. Nemek was showing up for one out of every two fights the other day, I finally broke down since it was 46 points to take him, or the other matches which were around 18 for someone with about a hundred points less than I. Nemek, if you read this, I apologize, I had a moment of weakness...

I also try to push the day before to about the 700-800 range, shield, then push again about 4-5 hours before the event is done. I queue up those opponents the day prior, then recheck before I break shield to make sure they are what I want to fight. It seems to me that many break shield at around the three and a half hour mark, so they can reshield within the 3 hour shield time, so if I hit it just a few hours before, it is much less crazy. I absolutely abhor fighting in the last hour and a half, seems like sometimes you are lucky to break even once you are unshielded.
