Trophy point red on map = no Trophy collected

Can you help me with Trophies?  As long as the trophy is white before the battle I receive points.  Sometime Trophies are red and no trophy points are given.  Why is this?

    Do you happen to have any Battle Cargo charges remaining? 

    If you don't have any Battle Cargo charges left, you won't be able to gain Trophies or Resources from the battle, and the resources/trophies will be displayed in red.

    That doesn't make sense to have those linked.  It keeps  lower players from advancing.  I can't even get to a point to play PVP before the trophies reset and it goes back to zero before enough battle cargo generates to advance.

    I get to between 20 -50 and then it resets.  It's a joke.
