Thank all of you who aided me in reaching my secret meta game goal on the Forums. It was a long trek and sometimes required self control in order to achieve it, but I made contact with some really great people via PMs... except Unwiseone, They (whose gender shall always be questioned) will always be the Sue Sylvester to my Will Schuester.

On a serious note, I do appreciate those of you who have remained constructive during the exceedingly frustrating month we have had. I can also sympathize with those of you who have not been able to keep your cool, who sometimes dip into the deranged lunatic posters on the forums, I can only offer you one piece of advice if you are the latter - Try to make the rant clever and funny, trust me the rage will still shine through, but at least I might get a chuckle instead of feeling like my eyes have been ****.

Season II is upon us, and I can already see that we have self moderated and we are not seeing a ton of 1400 scores, which shows the community is learning to deal and put forth effort that is commiserate with the rewards. We as a community were spending a hell of a lot of resources, shield hopping at 75HP a pop just to secure the coveted 250HP prize... funny how any reward evaporates in that kind of effort aside from the warm feeling of being the best at match 3 within a given 24 hour period.

The Devs are changing things constantly, and have done a great job up till this point so I have not given up hope. I will say however that I am seeing more people quit over MMR changes than I have in the past, so my hope is being challenged by the results of recent retention, but maybe their metrics will show that new players are playing more and spending more, and will sing the accolades of having to buy 3x roster slots at a time to populate their newly acquired characters.

At any rate, now that I have achieved my personal meta goal, I may or may not retire from the forums for a bit. Still playing strong icon_e_smile.gif

    Clint,

    You have have been one of the constant voices of reason on this forum since I joined. I'm sad to see you backing out, because that means it's only a matter of time before you find something else that captures your attention and you disappear from our threads. I really hope all the ruckus here has opened the Dev's eyes and they make changes fast enough to keep you around.

    Clintman, in TU1's name-drop thread, I called you out for being a positive force on the forums in recent weeks. It's still appreciated. I kind of wish that I didn't need the 10K HP /week moderator salary* so I could take a break from the forum as well.

    Now if only Ice would pay out the 6 weeks of backpay that he owes me.

    *: There is no salary for mods. We do this b/c we like pain.

    It is all Arogntbastrds fault, he started the whole thing, it wasn't until I hit my 500th post that the crazy idea hit. The hardest thing to do was to stop calling out the un-rehabilitable negative posters. It all falls under the old adage, never try to out mean a mean person, they will only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

    Ah that's where all the thoughtful threads come from. Well done on your meta goal. We can have forum minigames. Mine is usually 'report those spammers before everyone else when I open General Discussion'.

    I thought your meta game was to blab about every single meta related in game strategy possible, and then proceed to express wonderment at the devs changing them.

    Are you dense or just acting very well? I was not surpirsed in any way by that, and by the way, I didn't give out any 'trade' secrets. I am bad at metagame and I would actually be glad if its significance were lessened - the devs are bad at not shafting F2P players though. I sure didn't like tanking.
