Hi, as the new set coming soon, it would good to know when the currently sets rotate out to legacy. Since don't want to waste orbs to craft cards soon became legacy..

Is there any place players could find the time of set rotation? Thanks

New sets are added to Standard until Standard contains Origins plus 8 main-line non-Origins card sets.

    x. Origins
    1. Guilds of Ravnica
    2. Ravnica Allegiance
    3. War of the Spark
    4. Core 20
    5. Throne of Eldraine
    6. Theros: Beyond Death
    7. Ikoria (upcoming set, probably in early May)
    8. Core 21 (summer 2020 release)

When the 9th non-Origins set comes out, the oldest four are removed from Standard. So, in about 6 months, Standard will be:

    x. Origins
    1. Throne of Eldraine
    2. Theros: Beyond Death
    3. Ikoria (upcoming set, probably in early May)
    4. Core 21 (summer 2020 release)
    5. Zendikar Rising (fall 2020 release)

Here are some links that explain Standard in paper. The exception in MtGPQ is that Origins is always part of our Standard rotation.

This gives new players a reasonable card base as they start out in bronze, and vets who are returning to the game and stuck in Platinum a not as reasonable card base considering their competition, but at least enough usable cards that they usually don’t quit again and delete the game immediately.

We also have a newer format in MtGPQ called “Blocked Restricted” which is Origins, plus cards from predetermined sets which add to the flavor of the specific event.
