I think a great feature to add would be the X-Mansion Danger Room.

It would be the perfect combination of PVE and PVP and act as a constant event where you can 'practise' battles. 

You select your own team and can then select your opponents, be they NPCs or specific characters/teams. Winning or losing battles does nothing, but would give players a chance to trial different teams for using in PVE or PVP. 

So it would work financially, you could have certain powers of your character 'unlocked' or 'upgraded' for a battle, or for period of time, at a cost. For example, I want to use my character at champion level for the next battle at a cost of 100 Hero Points.
