Gideon Blackblade Vanguard's second activated ability doesn't work (properly) [Investigating]

I have observed, that when I tried to use Gideon's second ability (-6: Exile opposing creature, if this support shield becomes 0 exile opposing Vangurd - this text might not be literally written, but keeps the whole sense), while having 7 or 8 loyalty on him, the "Activate" button was greyed out and unable to use (opponent had both, creatures and vanguards). I didn't have opportunity to use this ability while having 6 loyalty, so I'm not sure if this doesn't work at all or only when it has exactly 6 loyalty - what is still an issue.
