Heavy Metal overlap

Did we really need 2 PvE subs, and now two PvP's at the same time?

It was already hard enough for some players to focus on all of them, now adding in yet another just seems a bit much.

  • They do this literally every week. Every. Single. Week. There has been no variation in the PVP schedule at all, for months, except when there have been technical issues. This is when the third one is scheduled to start.

Ok. I understand that. It just seems like overload to me right now. 2 PvE subs that end 12 hours before FC, and another new PvP thrown in the middle of that.

Maybe this is just what everyone wanted. If so, disregard.
  • Hey look on the bright side, more daken reward.
You get a daken, I get a daken, everybody get a daken.

Has this really been the case, though? I seem to remember being confused when the overlaps started, and I feel like this has only been going on for six weeks or so?

This has been the case since around November. Like clockwork.

The PvE subs end 12 hours after FC, don't they?

It doesn't really bother me, but then, I'm not planning on starting the Heavy Metal PvP until tomorrow evening anyway, after both FC and the subs are over.

Thanks, then I probably only started to care a while ago icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • 12hr overlaps aren't too bad. Gives those that want a head start on a event a chance to get started. It's not required to play the event right away.

It's when they have multiple events ending at the same time that's an issue.

right, sorry, that's what I meant. Both pve subs end 12 hours after FC. My concern with all of it is, rubber banding in the pve's seems to work differently for everyone, lower points available, etc. Given that, they take a bit more grinding in some cases.

To focus on those could take some players available game time. So, maybe a player uses up most of it clearing the nodes/healing, etc in the subs...but, S2 is also happening as well. So that means FC and now HM ...Both timed events. Both needed if a player/alliance wants to place well in S2.

I play both, and sure most of you do as well. But, with only so much available time to play, and spreading your focus more and more....just leads to more and more shields bought, etc. Which, of course, it's what D3 wants.

My overall point was, many people are already frayed after S1, then the immediate start of S2 along with the PvE for Sentry. Adding more to that mix is fine for many of us, true...but confusing to some and basically kicks out any idea of "casual play" if you intend to place well.

Though, I admit...I'm only on day 90 or 91 right now...I don't remember seeing that much overlap before, but maybe I am incorrect and it's always been there.
  • I wish they wouldn't do this as well.

It's also worth noting that, yes there are 2 PvE subs, but each of them has ~60% of the nodes of a "typical" PvE sub, so really there's only 20% more activity in the PvE.
