Strange Sights Alliance Rewards Nerf

Used to be that in SCL 9 you got an event token per door and some iso - so possibly 3 tokens per day in a good ally.  This was one of the things that made SS one of the fan favorite events.

Now in 9 you get 750 iso and 2 Elite tokens per door.  Really?

Oh, but surely playing through the pain of SCL10 is giving good stuff, right?

Oh look.  I get 750 iso and 3 Elite tokens.

So what's up...was this intended?  Too generous before?  Or a bug that no one will talk about, oops?

I'm not sure what SCL 7 and 8 rewards look like.

3 Event Vault Tokens give on average:

3*52/80 = 1.95 2-Star Covers

3*21/80 = 0.788 3-Star Covers

3*3/80+3*1/80*0.85 = 0.144 4-Star Covers

3*1/80*0.15 = 0.00563 5-Star Covers

Compared to that, 9 Elite Tokens give on average:

9*3/4 = 6.75 2-Star Covers

9*1/4 = 2.25 3-Star Covers

9*13/300 = 0.39 Target 3-Star Covers

I take 9 Elite Tokens over 3 Event Tokens any day.

Last I checked, Elites have a 0% chance of giving me an LT, a 4*, or (if you wanted one) a Beginner Support token.

OK, maybe you got the right 3 and the champ level got you an LT or a 4.

I prefer vault tokens, especially when you can get a lot and hence are more likely to get the better stuff from that vault.

So you want it the hard way? I'll give you the hard way

I assume that you farm 2- and 3-Star characters if you play CL10 and are mainly interested in 4- and 5-Star covers.

63 [2-Star Covers] eventually become 3 [3-Star Covers] + 4 [Heroic Tokens] + 1 [Mighty Tokens] + 5 [Command Points]

113 [3-Star Covers] eventually become 2 [Heroic Tokens] + 2 [Mighty Tokens] + 35 [Command Points] + 5 [Legendary Tokens] + 3.89 [4-Star Covers] (note that 28 3-Star characters feed two characters and give 4.5 covers and 19 feed just one character and give 3 covers)

1 [Heroic Token] becomes 59/80 [2-Star Covers] + (1/5+10/300) [3-Star Covers] + (1/16+3/400) [4-Star Covers]

1 [Mighty Token] becomes (17/20+13/300) [3-Star Covers] + (3/20+3/400) [4-Star Covers]

25 [Command Points] becomes 1 [Legendary Token]

1 [Legendary Token] becomes (17/20+15/400) [4-Star Covers] + (3/20+3/500) [5-Star Covers]

1 [Elite Token] becomes (3/4) [2-Star Covers] + (1/4+13/300) [3-Star Covers]

1 [Vault Token] becomes 52/80 [2-Star Covers] + 21/80 [3-Star Covers] + 3/80 [4-Star Covers] + 1/80 [Legendary Token]

This is a linear equation system with 8 equations and the unknowns [2-Star Cover], [3-Star Cover], [Elite Token], [Heroic Token], [Mighty Token], [Vault Token], [Command Point], [Legendary Token]. On the right-hand side [4-Star Covers] and [5-Star Covers] remain. If you solve this system, you eventually get that

1 [Elite Token] = 0.0398 [4-Star Covers] + 0.00358 [5-Star Covers]

1 [Vault Token] = 0.0838 [4-Star Covers] + 0.00513 [5-Star Covers]

or

9 [Elite Token] = 0.358 [4-Star Covers] + 0.0323 [5-Star Covers]

3 [Vault Token] = 0.251 [4-Star Covers] + 0.0154 [5-Star Covers]

I stand by my decision to favor 9 Elite Tokens over 3 Vault Tokens.

I like the token change, but miss the ISO.  I've been ISO starved lately, could have really used that.

I've often thought that they should allow trading within alliances.  As long as you've been in an alliance for x number of days/seasons, you should be able to trade or gift within your alliance...

That’s a shame. You used to get a nice hit of iso every day in alliance rewards. 10k+ each day for three days. I’m not so flush with iso that giving up 30k doesn’t sting a little.

I actually don't remember a cover per door, thought it was all iso.
And it was a decent amount of iso per door x 3, a nice change from the routinely low iso awards per day.
Now we'll get 2250 iso and 9 elite tokens per day in scl10.
If you get good pulls, maybe it's comparable, but probably not.

Was always looking for that iso rewards on SS... not anymore!

You know, I like opening vault tokens more than Elites.  You can tell me that those Elites helped me more than 3 vault tokens, but opening 9 Elites for alliance rewards after banging my head against the SCL10 wall just felt lame to me anyway.

SCL7 has also taken a huge hit on alliance rewards iso.  I remember the alliance rewards as something wonderful like 3500 per door.  I can see the light at the end of the iso tunnel - more than half my 4*s are champed - but I'm still in the 30k-a-day iso drought and was really looking forward to all that sweet, sweet purple crystal.

All of my 3s are champed and most of my dupe 3s aren't champed yet so yeah it definitely sucks getting very little iso and then the elite spits out a 3* but it's just another saved cover most of the time. Future shardwick will drown in rewards, current shardwick begging for purple iso on a street corner. Meanwhile I have over a million in red iso and nothing to spend it on.

I have nothing to spend my ISO on, so 9 Elites a day is much better for me.
