Soft lock with lotus field in Vantress CotC

Opponent cast lotus field as his first card in the match and the game stops progressing. Game menu is available but nothing else is responding.

is it possible that casting lotus field without a land to replace is bugged?

    It was working fine up until the Theros release, so if that's bugged its a new one!

    well, come to think of it. I played a ToTP earlier today and a lotus field was cast without a land to replace and there was no freeze, so perhaps the event is the cause?

    Was anything else happening did he cast a spell, kill one of your creatures, anything you can remember could help.

    @Julie71 - nothing comes to mind. I particularly remember I found it odd that the first card made the match lock up. That is why I wrote Greg played his first card.
