I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that "Our patience will achieve more than our force".

Agreed. But this will be the first time since I've been playing in over 3 years when a set wasn't released the week after the card reveal to my knowledge.

Edit* I think I remember that IXN was delayed a week due to the cards showing insane costs in relation to the sets prior and the devs needed time to correct that.

well.... if they have messed something up- say with one of the mechanics- I’m actually glad they haven’t just released the set regardless and are hopefully fixing it before release

The irony of this is that we've been asking them to give us the card gallery further ahead of time or to otherwise have a more extended spoiler season for sets the way paper magic does.  So this could be them actually listening to us, but without them saying anything it just creates confusion over broken expectations and makes it look like they've messed something up.
And thats the other side of the longest running complaint: extraordinarily poor communication

Exactly.  With no communication we are forced to assume that things will be as they always were.  If something has changed, we need to be told (or we react like this)

Let’s say they had planned to release it on last Thursday, but one of the developers noticed a bug with one if the new mechanics. IMO, it would build confidence in the player base if something to this effect was shared here on the forum.

I tend to be an optimist and give people the benefit of the doubt, so I hope the delay is for a reason similar to this.

I very much rather imagine that it is really just them listening to us and giving us the gallery way early, because we always asked for that to happen, but without actually saying a word about it.
No thats not the whole truth. They said, here is the gallery, along with the pre-release notes. The only thing that is really missing is a rough eta.

It could be anything else. We will probably never know.

This takes me back to the old tunes

    "Show me what it's for
    Make me understand it
I've been crawling in the dark
    Looking for the answer
    Is there something more
    Than what I've been handed?
I've been crawling in the dark
    Looking for the answer."

Well, apparently the rumours regarding the possible release date of the new update have been wrong.
I think, most players assumed the release scheduled on last thursday due to the published card gallery one week before, at least to me that was fairly plausible.
But, it wasn't available though. Imo there's nothin bad about it, at least when you suppose there are still some things to be done better, even with a delay. I'd say that likely everyone would concur, that time spent for some additional improvements or minor fixes in advance isn't a waste of time at all. It's actually better to be a little more patient when you'll get an even more enjoyable game on the other hand, just a little later.

To be honest, I'm actually afraid we don't get any of the options above, neither an update with less buggy cards or wonky mechanics nor that this update is going to be really enjoyable. Probably it's right what I've read already above. Likely only VIP packs are going to be fixed not to lose the last VIP subscribers (for now). According to the pre-release notes there are a couple of new mechanics, some of them are even taking place in player's graveyards like for instance 'buried'.

Oh my goodness. After the release of ELD the adventure mechanic was just disastrous. New events were actually not playable without a decent risk to throw your friggin phone out of the next window and some events like Challenge of the courts is still a shitfest. so please excuse me for suspecting that graveyard mechanics are maaaybe not developed until the end or even worse. Sure, I might be wrong, noone knows until the update will be available since we're still not getting any informations regarding anything from oktagon, except of that already mentioned pre-release notes or FYI's regarding pack changes.
Besides this, the new content of any new set is as interesting as only one other thing these days: the list of bugs hopefully to be fixed.
Unfortunately it seemed to be actually a joke to me when I've read it first. And also the second time. And so does it still. But apparently you guys mean it, that you "fixed SOME issues with adventure cards" as well as "fixed SOME softlocks caused by double sided cards" within the new update.
How about all? Or even almost all? Or even most of them? Or even half of them? But hey, some...? The optimists amongst the players may say it's at least something.
    Haha.
Good work though.. sometimes I'm wondering why I'm actually still playing this game, in times where you have to take care that your matches doesn't end at a full hour or around that time, because it could probably happen that it's not really loading anymore what will waste your entire match to be not counted...I guess, without being in a great community with awesome people around I would have quit months before. I'm really glad, I didn't spend a single cent for a VIP subscription til now and don't get me wrong, I don't think that video games, even phone games, have to be necessarily for free.
Anyway, I know plenty of players who unsubscribed again since it was introduced to the game or are planning to do so and who could blame them?
Poor D3/oktagon, you're losing lots of players each day, you're totally not aware of the potential this game (still) has, you're still ignoring the player community even if they are willed to tell you what they want and need and you're releasing set after set without actually having the last one in any state that could be considered as good...
I know, I usually don't write much on the forums, but enjoyed reading lots of discussions since at least a year though. Nowadays I even avoid this, because in almost every thread there's this kind of depressive mood amongst the players who are still active in here, maybe because the awareness is increasing that this game, really loved my almost all players I know, seems to be almost dead.
I guess you, oktagon, don't even notice or don't even care and I'm not sure what would be better..

A bit harsh.  Anyone who claims to have fixed "all" bugs is, in general, lying.

And if madwren is correct that a delay has been introduced due to the adjustment to the economy changes - an adjustment made purely in direct and rapid response to player feedback - then attacking the devs for ignoring the player community seems beyond ironic, and not in any good way.

This has in fact happened in the past. Brigby notified us of a bug caught on Monday before the planned release that tuesday. Ended up getting the release on the thursday of that week. We were grateful for the heads up. What that bug was I will never know. But at least we were informed.

    Fantastic, thanks for the update.

Now to parse what "early" means...
