Why aren't the Card Galleries posted on the D3 site anymore?  In addition to Facebook being a pain in the butt for a lot of us to use just to see cards, I assume it also makes Octal's life more difficult when updating his site.
(@octal9 feel free to dispute or confirm this)

There was never a reason given for switching over to Facebook only for these, and I'd really like to know what it could possibly be.

The reason is because if you know how their urls are formatted here on the forums, you can reasonably guess where the galleries will be before they're made available to the public.

I mean, yeah that's how it works.  Pretty sure that's how Octal used to get his info.

What's the issue?  They block the page before its release day, and if someone leaks it early, who the hell cares?

God forbid people get excited about the set before they WANT us to learn about all the ways they're screwing with VIPs get excited about the set.

I can confirm this. I've also been given a few sets after they went to facebook in the past by some very helpful people at D3 (read: Brigby) in the past. Not sure if that's something that'll continue - time will tell!

When I follow the link, I only see a page with cards overlapping each other, so it's of no use to me. Please post the cards on the forum again.

The set does look very interesting, complicated, tons of keywords but interesting... Exactly the kind of thing I like.

But... I'll just have to get what I get cardwise, with the stake in VIPs heart my budget for gaming is already gone, just wasted and I won't get to use much of this set until the next one is out.
It's like staring into the window of a banquet hall they've just kicked you out of before you got to eat.

To fill my stomach I'll have to eat these frozen ashes on the ground, at least I'll have a full stomach while I starve to death waiting for scraps.

It's totally in fitting with the set though, dashing customer hopes and sending us to the depths to help us understand the feelings of the characters in the story better...

Yeah, I'm in the same boat here. I never have had, nor ever will have, a Facebook account. I can't really make heads nor tails of the "gallery" being offered. Not only does it appear to be scattered with no real searchable parameters, but I can hardly view anything with the constant "join" popups hounding me. Oh, how I yearn for the good old days!

    Spot on. *knuckle bump*

I am a little leery about so many new effects and how they translate in conjunction with prior effects from other sets.

Did anyone see Aspect of Lamprey? Its so hard to navigate the list!

Card looks really strong, was looking forward to building around it

I fear that the buried/escape mechanic will require mythics to actually work, just like it was in Kaladesh with energise.

Ugh! I surely hope not! That irritated me to no end in kaladesh block. Without key energize mythics you really couldn't use the mechanic competitively.

How do you back up your accounts without a Facebook account?

That's less risky than letting Facebook Facebook your life.
Bear in mind that they were a major source of data that let Cambridge Analytica literally overthrow multiple countries, and their platform allows for hypergranular ad targeting that has been used to manipulate people's political views. Facebook is evil. I'd rather risk losing my game cards than let them have any more access to my life than they already do (and I'm sure they do even if I don't use their platform).

I don't. If I need to restore my account, ie. getting a new phone, I send in a ticket with all of my information and wait for them to restore it from their end. And it's not just Facebook; this forum is the closest thing I come to having any social media presence whatsoever.

Google Play will also back up your account if you do not have a Facebook, although its not quite as reliable.
