Item drop after new update

I have beaten Rag five times after the new update, which I have only claim one of the four rewards, but all I got was ISO-20. Am I just extremely unlucky or other people have experienced the same issue?

  • I'm having the same issue. I had to fight Yelena and Venom 7 times before I got the final reward.

Looking at the numbers post patch update, everything is netting out as per the Patch Notes. Meaning that the 2-4th prize have a 50% chance to drop. Sometimes you just flip heads in a row a lot.
  • How about adding a limit on bad rewards? You would be guaranteed the reward after 3 unsuccessful tries.

I know that it't another variable you would have to track per stage but it would help with the players who may feel that they are cheated by the game. These aren't big rewards and it's probably worthy keeping new players happy.
  • Good Lord, this is good enough guys.
  • I also don't understand the issue. The rewards are all quite reacheable and the overall time you need to get all rewards has gone down a good amount. If you don't want to spend so much time, only aim for the rewards that you really need. I also think that they should not present all rewards on a silver plate, it's easy enough as it is now.
  • There are times where it's taken me 6 or 7 tries to get the final award and then there have been times where I received the final award 3 times in succession (often 2 star rewards).

The issue is that people just don't understand this sort of stuff. If they flip a coin, they genuinely believe it will be heads then tails then heads then tails etc etc. If they get heads twice in a row, they will scream " omg the coin is cheating!!!".

I've never met someone in real life (other than small children) who doesn't understand how probability works though. It's not exactly rocket science. I remember learning about it in school when I was quite young, flipping a coin/rolling a die and writing down the results, and looking at the distribution of results and the runs of duplicated results etc. So I have no idea where these posters come from, because they seem not to have been taught this.

I used to work on a soccer simulation game so I can tell you that even small probabilities happen often if you have a large enough user base. Just like you don't want every 10,000th user to see 10 goals, you don't want users with long streaks of no rewards.

At 50% reward chance that's 1 out of 1024 chance to get a streak of 10 ISO-20 rewards. That's one out of every 1000 players right now who is having a bad streak. If you consider that there are about 250 random rewards in the campaign, you have a 1/4 chance of getting a 10 bad streak at some point. If you add all the other long streaks, the probabilities get even worse.

There is an equal chance of getting 10 wins in a row but unfortunately people remember the bad experiences more than the good ones.
  • The update is a huge improvement though. Before there was a 1 in 18 chance of a 10 ISO-20 for the 4th reward with a 1 in a million chance of 10 wins for the 4th reward.
