Altar of Dementia prevents other on-death triggers from occurring [Investigating]

Altar of Dementia causes your creatures to go to exile, rather than to your graveyard, when they are killed. Nothing about that mechanic suggests it should prevent other on-death triggers from occurring, however, if you have Altar of Dementia in play and one of your creatures is killed:

  • Rakdos Riteknife in play will not reinforce
  • Orzhov Pontiff's on-death effect and Afterlife ability do not trigger
  • Vanguard Liliana, Dreadhorde General's passive ability (draw a card) does not trigger
Those are just the ones I've personally tested so far.

Well, technically that is correct and how it works in paper (since "dying" technically means "goes to the graveyard from the battlefield").  None of those effects will trigger if you Vraska's Contempt a creature either.
HOWEVER in MTGPQ that's not always how it works, since Kaya's Improved Burial Rites support does not stop death effects from occurring.

    So........... *shrug*
