Outflank not working as worded

Outflank: "Whenever an opposing creature attacks or blocks, destroy this support. Then, it deals X damage to that creature, where X is the number of creatures and creature reinforcements you control."
My opponent played Outflank. On my turn I destroyed their only creature (Price of Fame, for the record), then I attacked. 
The wording on the card indicates Outflank should've been destroyed at that point, and dealt zero damage to my creature, but it stayed in play for the rest of the game.
Can you fix the wording or the mechanic please @Oktagon_Support
