Things said on the Forum...and what they really mean.

Whilst perusing these Forums for several years I have come across many occassions where confusion reigns as to what somebody says against what they really mean - things like "I'm Quitting!" only to confusingly see that poster still around 2 months later. So here is a by no-means official or endorsed by anybody at all guide to help!

Term used                                Actual meaning


Devs                                         A mythical creature that once roamed the forums, now thought extinct.

Soon (tm)                                 The actual meaning of Soon (tm) has not yet been revealed, hopefully soon. (tm)

Health pack Sink                       As in "This event was a real health pack sink!" - means player is down to last 250 health packs

Sinister Sux!                             A phrase indicating disappointment but actually means "I don't understand this event at all"

Couple                                     A period of time that could range from 2 to Infinity.

Feeder                                     A term once used to describe the updating of character champion levels but now is an excuse to rage about anything you like.      

Brigby                                     A term for a missing person. E.G - "David has gone full on Brigby, he is now on a milk carton"

Special Event                         Once considered a time of excitement linked closely to "Feeder" above  - suspected reclassified as "Costumes" - i.e "It is a special occassion, we should expect the Costumes to buy!"    

Toxic Forum                           A term to describe the acidic atmosphere on the official forums but actually means "Somebody asked a question 2 years ago and is still a bit disappointed at no answer". This term is possibly linked to "Devs" and "Feeder".

Release Notes                      An update as to the games latest version. Exactly the same as the previous version normally.*

Player Expectations              Shut up Forum! Just stop asking questions! No wonder the "Devs" aren't here!

MMR                                     No idea. Probably involves Wizards.

Communication                     Complete radio silence. Is Bob still here? Bob? BOB!!!!!! We are all alone... :#

New Character #1                 Oh great ANOTHER version of Captain Nutbag, why don't we get anything original??!?!

New Character #2                I really wanted this character in the game but I'm never going to use him/her/it.

SHIELD Training                   Ka-Ching, thanks!

Supports                              A term for an underwhelming experience that should have been good. Example - "That Star Wars roller coaster looked so good but it was complete and total Supports when I tried it".

** Discord                            A legendary secret "safe place" rumoured to feature updates about the game.

    This is very much a new character release thread throw-back, but:
    "Works well with Star Lord"  -  This character doesn't specifically block the use of 4* Star Lord in the game


    I would also amend your description of "Release Notes" to include that formal release notes will be posted to the official communication outlet on Discord :-P

    The major exceptions generally involve the release breaking something, or making the UI worse.

    There are two common things said around here:

    1) The devs never listen to players' feedbacks. 

    Actual meaning:  My feedbacks are the best for me. Therefore, it is best for the entire playerbase and for the game. If the devs didn't implement my suggestion, it only means they don't listen to players' feedbacks.

    2) Nobody asked for this. Why did they waste their time doing this?

    Actual meaning: I didn't suggest this. Therefore, the devs shouldn't be doing things that I didn't suggested. I represent the entire playerbase. So, whatever I think is the best for everyone.
