Protector Objective vs Kaya - Burial Rites support and Surveil [Investigating]

During the Race to Orazca event, one of the nodes had a
PROTECTOR objective: Lose 5 or less of your creatures during a single fight.

the AI was playing Kaya, and put out the
Burial Rites support: Whenever a card enters your opponent's graveyard from anywhere, it is exiled instead.

I was playing multiple cards with Surveil, and when I surveiled some creatures into the graveyard from library, they of course were exiled instead due to the Burial Rites support.

What I did not expect was that the PROTECTOR objective to count those creatures against the objective.

I would expect the objective would only count creatures that died or exiled from PLAY.

I noticed this same thing. Whenever Kaya used her first ability those creatures that were exiled counted against my Lose 5 or less objective.
