Discussion: Please Take Anniversary Survey!

Just got this link in game, figured I'd start a thread for it since I didn't see one, go over what I see in the survey, and give us a place to compare/discuss (hopefully we won't have another snafu where a bunch of people get excited about new content without realizing the survey was talking about paid content).

So this is a survey for the 6th Anniversary. First question lets you pick an unlimited number of genre keywords to describe MPQ (Puzzle, Strategy, Match 3, etc). I personally decided to avoid picking anything that says "puzzle", because I think that's a minimal aspect of the game. There's plenty of strategy, but the only actual PUZZLE elements are the few special matches, like Apocalypse or Kaecilius, where you're forced to play in nonstandard ways or utilize specific tactics to win (where part of the "puzzle" is building a team in the first place). I personally find "puzzle" games to be something where you can get stumped and put it down and come back later, and that's just not MPQ to me. Probably not a huge thing in the grand scheme of things, but it's how I view things. I also didn't pick anything that says "role-playing", because this isn't a game that makes you feel like you're taking on the "role" of characters. The story and background are minimal, and despite having RPG elements (leveling stats and choosing character builds), there's about as much "role playing" as a Mario game, you know? We don't have any sort of meaningful decision to make as a "commander" for these teams of heroes, or our own character (a Shield Agent that represents YOU, or something), or the depth with individual characters for it to count. But again, that's just me.

Favorite 3-star character, everyone appears to be on the list (in the past we've had a survey where you picked a favorite, but not everyone was even a choice in the first place).

Told to select the BIGGEST reason this character is my favorite. Given options from "they're fun to play" or "I like their comics/movies" to "they work well against offensive/defensive teams" (two separate options) and "they help me complete PVP/PVE faster" (also separate options).

Again, Favorite 4-star, not counting, but it appears to be closer to a full list, newer characters are present. Again, biggest reason they're a favorite. Repeat with 5-star characters.

Favorite Special Versus Event, pick up to 3. Includes events with themed boost lists (Black Vortex, Divine Champions) and special rules (Danger Room, Snowball Fight, Best Friends Forever).

Favorite Boss Events (pick up to 3). Favorite Story events (again, pick up to 3).

And that was it. No broad open-ended questions or complicated questions/options. Mostly a favorites list with a couple notes for why characters are favorites (which could help them design future favorites). Looks like I heavily over-analyzed that first question, huh?

Keep in mind that the choices you make may/should influence the characters on offer in the October Fan Favorite store (and somehow they'll probably make the 3* more available).

So maybe you should pick a character you want more shots at covers for.

Don't pick Dino or Taskmaster, who will already be heavily featured in the Anniversary vault etc.....  Just my opinion.

Angel is in the 4* list for some reason I noticed rather than the 3* list.

I picked:
3* Strange - helps me PVE faster
4* C&D - I like the character art
5* Okoye - helps me PVE faster

I was debating internally what to select on all these, because I was worried as I took it that I might be influencing future character power direction (Oh, everyone cares only about PVE speed, guess we don't have to worry about art, PVP speed, or interesting designs..). I wouldn't necessarily say that the characters I use all the time (my personal meta) actually ARE my favorites, but they are certainly the game's favorites in as much as not having or using them means you're spending even more time grinding than necessary.

I focused on what I enjoy. Not what's powerful, good, or top tier.

All 3 of my character picks were because they are fun to play/I enjoy their powers.

Daken, Miles, Daredevil.

Enemy of the state, Webbed wonder, deadpool versus mpq.

I took it to be a way of the devs working out what 3/4/5 essentials, PVE, PVP and Boss event to run during the Anniversary.

Blatantly left out the biggest reason for favorite 4* and 5*:

One of the only characters I have covered enough to be useful thanks to RNG and dilution.

I put "this character was hard for me to get" for both but I'm not sure they'll interpret that choice the way it needs to be.

For game type I think the only accurate answers are match 3 and card collector.  I agree with OP that there is very little puzzle aspect outside of certain boss fights.  Stories are not engaging enough to be considered adventure or role playing  especially playing ddq and pvp.  Given the current state of some things like a 1:250 5* heroic token, I would have also selected "casino/gambling/lottery" or "pay to succeed/win" had they been options.

You should be able to access it again from the "Daily News" section in game - you normally click on the cog type thingy in the main screen menu.

My choices:

Card collector; Match 3

Dr Strange, for PvE

Nightcrawler, because hes my favorite Marvel character

Kitty, for PvE

Versus events: Balance of Power, Combined Arms

PvE: Enemy of the State, Prodigal Sun, Fight for Wakanda (mainly the ones we dont see often, because its boring playing the same ones so often)

1) Strategy, collectible-card, card game, turn-based strategy, puzzle and match-3. The reasons for choosing strategy and puzzle have to do with my own interpretation. My puzzle in MPQ revolves around dealing with meta teams and how I can make the best use of characters who are perceived to be the worst character of the game, if possible. The strategy would be making use of different elements in the game to deal with match. For example, is it better to destroy those tiles, steal them or simply let them be there so that my team is at an advantage?

8) Favourite PvP: Best Friends Forever, Combined Arms and Balance of Power.

I can't remember what some of the PvPs are like: Naughty or Nice, PvP Matchmaking. 

9) Favourite Boss Events: Sinister 6, Come and Get Me and Battle at Basilica.

10) Favourite PvE: Webbed Wonders, Strange Sights, Fight for Wakanda (please come back soon )

Problem is that i always forget what the PVE's are. I know Strange Sights, but almost all others I can't say what opponents i face. 
As a rule of thumb I like events with non-tile movers and i dislike events that are heavy on Dark Avengers.

3*: Dr Strange (cause I had to pick one (other). Haven't used a 3* outside of required nodes in ages)

4*: Medusa (cause she pairs with thorkoye to clear PvE faster than gritty or panthos)

5*: Okoye (speed speed speed in PvE)

Versus events: left blank because they all suck and aren't actually vs anyone but the computer.

PvE: Enemy of the State, Strange Sights, and ... cosmic whatever-its-called.  Give me the extra tokens!

Boss events: The spider-man far-from-home one, Sinister 6, and I think I said Apocalypse as the last one.  because rewards and some actual thought are required.

Type: I called it a Card Collector game. Like OP, I couldn't call it anything that referenced "puzzle". I really wish I could.

3*: Dr Strange (faster in PVE, though I really do enjoy playing as him)
4*: America Chavez (so much fun to play with)
5*: Iceman (favorite Marvel char, and finally not creepy Bobby)

PvP: Balance of Power, Best Friends (I think)... something else, I don't know. I hardly play PvP, but those two seem to provide some variety in opponents.

PvE: Strange Sights (definitely my favorite), Enemy of State and FFWakanda (just so we can see them again)

Boss Events: The "puzzliest" ones we have (in my opinion): Apocalypse, Thanos, and Galactus

If you like Hercules disappointed, I would recommend looking up "Hulk Hogan meets the dungeon of doom". It's a 3 min promo clip that is so bad its good.

But yeah I want gauntlet back too.
