Goblin Electromancer effect persists after leaving the battlefield.[Investigating]

"While this creature is on the battlefield, your spells cost 2 less to cast."
The text implies the cost reduction only has effect while the goblin is on the battlefield, however it seems the reduction is permanent. After I cast the goblin all my spells did decrease costs by 2, but the lower cost remained after the goblin was destroyed (by verix's support).

    Oh, THAT'S what that was. Happened to me in a game and I couldn't figure out what caused it...
