Self-inflicted damage and strike/protect tiles

How does self-inflicted damage (eg. Ares' sunder, Juggernaut's headbutt, Sentry's everything) interact with strike tiles?
Is it increased by your own strike tiles, increased by enemy strike tiles or not affected by any strike tile?
Same question for protect tiles

I've been wondering the same thing. So I just tried it with Patch, Jug, & Spidey.

I had 6 148 strike tiles down for each side, 1 43 protect tile, and I fired off a L40 Headbutt.

Raw, the Headbutt should do 1100/550 damage to them/me
    It did 1988/550.

So it looks like my strike tiles added 6x148=888 to the 1100, but neither strike my strike, their strike, nor my protect affected the self damage.

    * Edit - Corrected the typo AethD kindly pointed out in the base damage for Headbutt *
  • I think you made a typo, it was 1100/550 right? You said 1100/500. Both should match up right if nothing affected self damage.

Yes, my mistake. The base damage was 1100/550, not 1100/500.

Confirm what MennoKnight said, my Headbutt self-damage wasn't affected by friendly strike tiles.
    Neither by the enemy's.

Edit: took cMagneto, Bullseye and Juggernaut into battle, got Bullseye's protect tiles out. Juggernaut self-damage wasn't affected by friendly protect tiles (reasonable as they protect from enemy damage).
As for newer heroes, have no idea, will try to check.
Edit: Ares' self-damage wasn't affected by friendly protect tiles.
Edit: Sentry's World Rupture/Supernova team damage was not affected by friendly protect tiles either.
  • Sentry's team damage was unaffected by strike tiles in my tests as well

Can anyone test Hulk's 5 black self damage? I'm guessing it follows the trend, but it'd be nice to be sure.

As of this morning, Anger follows the trend: enemy damage is boosted by your own strike tiles; self-damage is not boosted by either side's strike tiles. Haven't checked for protect tiles.
  • Alright, thanks for testing guys! So what I'm getting from your posts is that self-damage is not affected by any strike or protect tiles from either team
