Suggestion: Mono PW Event

I'd like to see an event that only allows mono planeswalkers.  I have several that I just don't use due to the flexibility of the dual and tri-colored walkers.  After being forced to use restricted decks in the newer events that dropped, I found some new challenges and felt somewhat invigorated to try something new.

Especially in light of some posts about the big 3, having a PW restricted event sounds like a nice change to me.  I'd like to dust off some of the PWs I dont use with any sort of regularity and try my skill with a much smaller set of cards to play with.

Maybe make it 3 or 5 nodes, not necessarily a coalition event, but something engaging that would breath some life to the second string PWs and put the big three on the bench for an event.

Sure we'd see a lot of Koth, Elspeth,  Nissa Worldwaker, etc., but at least it would be something different.  What do you all think?

We've been asking for it for some time now. Seems like something they could create in a few minutes (using Nodes of Power template) but so far no luck.

I hadn't seen that before, thanks for bringing it to my attention.  Bummer it hasn't happened yet, guess I'll keep hoping (and not hold my breath) that it becomes a thing.

I totally agree with this.  It would be nice to play other pws instead of the same 5-8.  Like right now I'm playing Terrors in the Shadows and I'm using mono color pws.  I'm perfect so far.  Dusted off my Lil 1 Vampire deck for the first time in a long time.

These suggestions show me that the players care and hope for this game way more than its developers. That's why behind games should always be people with dreams and vision. Money as a single goal will always fail to deliver if developers don't share at least a fraction of players interest, who breathe life into the game.

I've been using Kaya for Terror and I've actually had a lot of fun with her.  I won't ever use her in a coalition event, and I know she's not a mono pw, but I feel it's still relevant enough.

I think I've probably been missing out on enjoying the game with a fresh PW because I just don't feel like the big 3 can be beat for important events (like how half of all objectives now can be completed with brokhan- by summoning/casting 3 or more creatures, with or without power/toughness of x or more, dealing x or more damage, casting x or more spells - he's just too good to not use if you can!)

I'm going to try for the next couple of legacy non-coalition events to run some PWs I haven't used in ages just to see how it goes.  Thanks for the idea!

I feel locking players out of events with thier favorite walkers is bad. But maybe instead create objectives or a permanent support effect that boosts/requires certain colors.

Honestly, I feel like the big 3 aren't anyone's "favorite" walkers, but they're just the ones that make it easiest to win a lot in events.  If you forced people to dig deeper into their collections for an event I think you'd be surprised at how much fun they'll have (like, I love Jace Unraveler, but there is literally no point using him if I can slam Brokhan instead)

I think you misunderstand the 1st post.  What is suggested is a mono  color pws event.  Where only mono pws cann compete.  I know I have a favorite mono pws in each color.

I know I enjoyed playing with some of other favorite pws.  Had a top 25 finish in Terror.
