No Daken in Prodigal son pack?

The percentage is published, and there's around 5% chance to draw a daken from the 10 packs, when you get a rare.
I think you may have gotten other rare but not daken specifically.
I really think the packs are poor value. Don't buy them as you are not guarantee a daken at all.0 -

Normal chance 2.4%, 10 pack 6.1% chance.
Chance of getting none in 5 10-packs = 4.3%, or 1 in 23. Unlucky, but hardly impossible.
You should only buy a 10-pack when you can use many of the different covers that it gives. If you only want the featured character, you're much better off just buying the covers directly.0 -

Don't buy 10 packs at all. Unfortunately D3 is in the process of seeing just how terrible of a deal they can offer and have the general population still buy it. They went from Guaranteed featured character, down to a 20% chance of featured character down to 10% and now down to 6.1%. If the 6.1% is successful they will make it 4% next time to see if people will bite still.
I do believe it is going to backfire. Everyone has their threshold for value, and naturally we all assume that other peoples threshold matches their own. I so wanted to buy the 10 cover pack with Daken as I purchased covers for him, but I could not justify in my mind such a terrible drop chance, especially when the last time I looked at a 10 slot cover pack the odds were 20%.
I am sorry for your experience, but it does validate my observations and my OWN decision not to purchase these.
I am sure you will get plenty of folks telling you that you saw the odds, too bad if you got screwed, they published the chances. You are right to feel that the development team is giving you a terrible deal on it, and the best I can offer you is to make sure you don't make the same mistake again. and I am sorry to say that too, because I believe in supporting the development team.
Frankly, I believe heroic packs should have 2* covers removed from them and have only 3 and 4*s. give people a reason to spend 200 HP a day on the daily deal. I think they would make a lot more money that way. It just feels greedy now.0 -

Especially so since now you can get every 2* through PVP awards eventually, albeit a very slow process. I'd like to think they'd sell a lot more daily deals, and 10/40 packs if they made that change.0 -

They really need to do something to bring value, otherwise they will completely lose folks who have all the 2*s and 3*s.0 -

but unless you have the character already, you can't buy that specific cover, right?
I need daken and also just got hosed on a 10 pack0 -

Agree, there's absolutely no value for me now. Back when the packs only contain the featured hero, I spend a substantial sum of money on the packs for lazy capt and punisher packs, and I considered them good value.
The packs now are simply terrible that I will never gamble my money away. I rather spend them on shield as I have more control over them.0 -
I considered spending money on a 10-pack, and then saw the 6.1% chance. **** that noise. If I spend more than 30 bucks on this pack, and only have about even odds of getting the card advertised as the reason to buy the pack... That's embarrassing. Nobody should ever buy that. That's such a terrible deal.0

Ah, caught you red handed feeding the ****-ball. The game goes south because of those purchases you know... No chance of improvement until they stop.0 -

Interesting you say that right when facing evidence to the contrary. People spend money mindlessly on MPQ. Therefore the game is tuned more and more to serve the mindless.0 -

Yeah, I got hit with this too. Without Daken the PvE to too much of a grind to be find, but then they make it impossible to get because I got **** on the last PvE points fiasco.
Desire to actually play this game is seriously **** lacking right now.0 -
I had enough HP laying around that I could buy the 10 pack, and I pulled a Daken from it (which I didn't have). I know I'm one of the lucky one the RNG Gods chose to bestow luck upon. They're generally really bad value, even if you get the featured hero (the other 9 covers were useless), and I wouldn't have bought the pack if I didn't already have the HP for it.0

I think that is the idea behind the death brackets... Also, why in the world would anyone buy a 10 pack??!? You can directly buy 3 daken covers of your choice for that price.0 -

Ah. Well, that's a tough situation to be in - once you miss a stop on the release train, it's hard to get back on board these days.
Dunno what's in D3's head, but buying packs is a horrible idea these days - you're better off just waiting for Daken to be offered as a reward again (most likely will be in one of the upcoming PvPs).0 -

Well according to Demiurge, you just like opening packs for the FUN of it!
Removal of guaranteed cards
In previous events, our card store featured a pack of 10 cards for about $20 USD that was guaranteed to drop the featured character for the event. That’s unusual for card battlers. Typically, this is the newest, most exciting prize for players. In this latest revision of the store, we removed the guarantee while keeping the expected number of featured characters about the same. For many developers at Demiurge, this was a crazy idea. Many of us figured that the entire value of the 10-packs of cards was that they included a guaranteed character in them, but we were fairly unusual in our design here, so we decided to adjust the system. This change went live prior to the visual overhaul, and the results were phenomenal. The first event to feature this new design was a huge success despite having relatively simple content and no new character on sale. We’re not sure why players preferred this system, but we suspect the answer is a simple one: the uncertainty of opening packs is part of what makes them fun! If, in World of Warcraft, the boss was guaranteed to drop the loot you wanted, I suspect the game would be less engaging overall. Theoretically, you could apply the same principle to card battlers.

I'm quite glad I opened many packs in the past with the guaranteed character, I would have quit the game otherwise.
With the number of characters to be bought and maxed, being guaranteed about some characters in the pack is the least you could expect.
Did you get anything good nonetheless ?0 -
Yeah, no chance am I buying one of those. My friends have tricked me into paying for a few single tokens a few times and always regret it as it turns to bagman in my hands. I mentally gave the store a new name so I'd remember not to do it again: "Dumb@ss Roulette".
I much prefer just spending the 1250 on the cover I want (which does necessitate winning the first ones, obviously..)0 -
