RaW Right Node - Ral's second does not count as damage to a creature

As title says, Ral's Rechargeable Blast does not register as damage towards the Enraged objective when the creature is destroyed by the damage.  I did not deal non-fatal damage to compare.

Ok, can confirm non-fatal damage from Rechargeable Blast does not count either.

I went with a broader attempt and used Gates Ablaze with a handful of Gates in the field and did get points toward the objective...It worked in another event (can't recall which but the objective was essentially the same).

Although I never actually reached the 12 damage to hit that objective in this event, I know that it gave me "some" of the points toward it. 
Only thing is, I'm not sure if it counted damage to my critters or Greg's. 
And I think it was maybe 2 damage to each of my 3 creatures (6) and 2 damage to Greg's 2 creatures (for a total of 10).
I will make a grand attempt to try and confirm with other means of damage.

Update: I went into the same fight with the same build but swapped in a blocker 4/4 flying blocker (Dovin's Sphynx token).  It blocked, it dealt 4 damage to Greg's critter and then died.  I scored 4 points toward the objective.

A little later on, Greg had summoned Swiftblade Vindicator (double-striking 3/3 red/white soldier with vigilance & berserker) that ran into my Biovisionary, dealt 3 damage to the Biovisionary and took over 20 itself, giving me the objective.

I'm about 83% convinced that the objective should read "Deal 12 or more damage to enemy creatures, but not with Planeswalker abilities".

Yes, I have been able to meet the objective with spells and creature damage as well, just not the planeswalker abilities.  Although now I want to test the "cast a spell" damage from Ral's 3rd to see...

Ral's Flux of Genius damage does indeed count, but this is technically support damage and not direct Planeswalker ability damage.

I've been able to meet this objective consistently now, using blockers.
Gates Ablaze (indirect damage) does work (when I have one or more Gates in play of course) when pinging my and Greg's critters.
Because I've met the objective consistently, I haven't bothered to go back and attempt other sources of direct damage, such as any targeted red burn.

Targeted burn works (Beacon Bolt and Exquisite Firecraft tested), it seems to be just planeswalker direct damage abilities as far as I can tell.
