Do characters stars matter during tournament for reward?

if i use a 3 star compared to a 1 star would i get a better reward?

    The only thing that really matters is how many points you have and what place you are in by the end of the tournament. Just make sure you have a good team that can possibly fend off some attackers or intimidate them enough so that they can press the "skip" button on you.
