Adjusting skills at no cost for newly 'rebalanced' character

Would it be too much to ask that when characters have extreme rebalancing, that anyone with a maxed character can adjust their skills around accordingly for a short time period at no cost.

Spiderman is an example where I'd definitely need to change my setup because his skills have been changed greatly to the point where the setup I have is no longer doing what the description said when I moved his colors around.

Please consider devs!

  • My guess...probably not. He was one of the original 24 or so characters upon the games original release meaning for the majority people have had a chance to use him. And most people have expressed wants of his change as well as multiple notifications of his change (Gotta give the devs +1 on that, they learned their lesson on PR since the Rags nerf-pocalypse). It would really be unfortunate if you bought his covers and skilled him the hour before his nerf but...right now that would be the risk you take.
  • In spidey's case at least maybe they'll start giving us his covers again now that he isn't broken.

The issue is not that he's finally getting nerfed, it's that they're actually changing the power balance of the covers.

Most people agree that old Spider-Man was best as 3/5/5. From the looks of things a lot of people are going to prefer new Spider-Man as 5/5/3.

Let's say i had a 3/5/5 Spidey (i wish!) and lucked out to get an extra Yellow cover a month or two ago. I knew the nerf was coming. Eventually. But i had no idea at the time what they were going to change. I would have no reason to reduce either Blue or Purple on pure speculation, but no ability to hold on to the cover for more than a week in order to see what the changes would be. (And note that the entire reason for that is to encourage new players to spend HP before covers expire, so they're getting us both coming and going in this case.)

Other people have spent HP on covers for him. I agree that asking for refunds is a bit unreasonable at this point, but asking for the chance to rearrange covers is not all that outlandish. D3 has gotten their money from people buying covers for Spidey. The fact that he was broken enough to encourage people to spend money on him has probably benefited D3 a great deal. Yes it's reasonably for them to nerf him to make the game "fair" (although in a lot of other ways the game seems a lot more "fair" to really new players and really old players) but D3 is making those changes because of problems they created, and it seems entirely unreasonable to expect those players to then spend _more_ money to correct the cover balance when they've already lost a lot of utility with the character.

As for me, my Spidey is 3/5/3. I might shift him to 4/5/2 or 5/5/1 if given the opportunity, but it's not a huge deal to me either way. However i can see where people who paid for covers or have discarded covers they didn't need at the time might feel put-upon.
  • it's frustrating, I know. I was in an uproad way back in the day when Rags was nerfed. Also especially when C. Storm got her Yellow change (had to respec her completely from 5/3/5 to 5/5/3), when thor got his change (went 5/5/3 to 3/5/5) and also when wolverine changed too (5/3/5 to 5/5/3). It happens...just one of those things in life where, like traffic jams, you just suck it up and stay there and get through it. or take a detour but you won't be able to change what is happening. And adjusting at no cost? probably not either. just not fair as well for old/new players because they are getting essentially a 2300 hp upgrade for free.
