Did you guys really think the playerbase, given the already poor reaction to VIP, wouldnt notice and violently reject the nerfing of the drop rates on this game? The playerbase is already suffering and leaving. 

If this was an attempt to wring the last bit of juice from this rotting fruit then you hit the nail on the head. 

If this was an attempt to grow the game and create a better product, it was a miserable dumpsterfire.

Who is making the decisions down there? 
Whats the point of even having these forums if you ignore well over 95% of the feedback you receive?
