RTO: Bolas Clutches won't work anymore with three creatures on the board

I just played my first RTO match, Top Node Blue.
My opponent did cast a gaeas a first time, i stole it.
After a few turns while i filled my board with creatures a second gaea was cast
and i was about to steal it again, but NOTHING happens and so i lost my match.
There was nothing on the board that negates my cast. Three creatures on my side.

Battle log of first and second cast of bolas clutches: https://imgur.com/NV94XML / https://imgur.com/6rez0Qg

Q: How to play a perfect event when unexpected bugs spoil our efforts this way?

I used only cards that are not known for bugs, no "not now" / "Select" cards, etc.
and the game is still able to spoil my success AND there is nothing D3GO is doing for compensation.
Loosing a match because of my own fault is ok, but loosing match after match due to bugs is not.
Especially when there are no apologies.

Just to remember: we are dealing with the "not now" / "Select" softlog bug no for TWO month

Very frustating, isn't it?

Since the last update, you can't steal a creature if you already have 3 on board (even if the text doesnt mention it). Besides it will no longer destroy the creature. Bolas clutches is a particular case though.

As bolas clutches is a support that triggers his effect on etb, it will cast, then reach the board, and finally apply an "unavailable" effect ... So nothing will happen.

A spell would have required a legitimate target to be cast so you wouldn't have wasted it.

As stated I had a gaea already on my side, so it is not a fourth creature with an unavailable slot.

@naabaldan - apparently that argument is totally immaterial at this time, however weird that may seem (when compared to how BC used to work).

The explanation was that an error existed for over a year with the steal mechanism which was undetected until recently. Sigh! ☹️

This is a prime example of what happens when simple rules are undefined in MTGPQ (see my signature).

In a previous thread where the Lay Claim/In Bolas' Clutches irregularities were pointed out, this was marked as "as designed". When I asked for verification, since I saw this as completely absurd as it only affects certain spells, I never heard back. Maybe this time around?
