IceIX, enough is enough. You need to talk to us.

I've been waiting for days now for someone to come on the forums and explain what the hell happened with the server outage and Daken delay. Tinykitty happens, we all know this, and I think most of us are happy to forgive and forget about technical difficulties. But the complete silence from D3 during the event, and the absolutely minimal announcements afterwards, goes beyond problematic. At the very least, there need to be updates as these kind of events occur, even if it's just "we're working on it." Better still would be actual discussions with us about what's going on. Those of us on the forums are your most passionate players, we want MPQ to succeed because we love playing it. To ignore us as though we can simply be brushed off just feels disrespectful.

Come talk to us. We'll keep it civil, you don't need to fear a flame war. We just want to know what is going on, and that our input is being heard.

Forum folks, if you agree, please help me keep this thread bumped and visible.

    You don't speak for us
  • It's the weekend. I'm assuming IceIX is hitting up that 70s disco he loves, in his platform shoes and bell-bottoms. He does a mean Travolta after a few Cosmopolitans.

It's a game folks. Chill. It'll still be here tomorrow, and the day after. Meanwhile, life is happening!

It's the weekend. Chill the hell out. Seriously. Relax. They had server problems, first time they did this season stuff and it's nearing the end and the server overloaded due to increased Tourney activity and the Heroic Oscorp event ending, which is why they've been taking steps to reduce server load in the future (Shield versus bracketing).

    I ain't even mad.

ICEIX Is not a community manager, yeah they need one, but he's not it. He does what he can when he can.
  • Time to once again point out that IceIX is not the official liaison between the devs and the forum. He contributes here when he can in addition to his other duties which take precedence.

Do I want an official liaison for these types of situations? Yes, absolutely. If anything demand that before singling out the only person that communicates with us to begin with.

In any case, IceIX, please keep doing what you're doing.

Also, the in game note though minimal reaches everyone who logs on. Typically if they aren't on the forums, which reading through requires ample time, they are probably very busy trying to actually fix the issue we are wondering about.

Very good point, irrespective of anything else the forum should not be the only way we are communicated with.

Case in point: has there been any in game message about the Spidey funbalance? They did a goodish job with that for Thorverine but if active forum members are the only ones that know about this going in I think I'm going to need to take a break from the forum when all hell breaks loose driving all the demons here.

    None.

This. Come on, people. I agree they need someone to manage their community/ support stuff, but it shouldn't be IceIX if he's busy working on other stuff.

Oh god, they really need to have an in-game msg for the Spidey nerf like yesterday. Not communicating with the 5% of your playerbase on the forums is one thing, neglecting 100% of your playerbase is another. Devs, what is more cost-effective, taking a few minutes to add the Spidey nerf to the news in-game, or having to do hours and hours of extra customer service?

Ah, right. I'm currently recovering from an injury; it's unfortunately easy to lose track of days.

I'd be more than happy to take on the role of official ambassador between the devs and the forum. Probably beats my current job.

If we are applying for a the liaison position, I'll throw my hat in the ring. I'm always here anyways. LOL.
