Defining your Kill Order, a thought exercise

Let's assume all characters are at max level for a bit, all powers unlocked and at reasonable levels for a bit, since I'm a bit curious about something... how do you define who gets to suffer the Wrath of say... Ragnarok's mighty hammer?

Personally, my take on Kill Order is to try to hit the guy that brings the deadliest Countdown Tile first, and maybe smack the Healer around second... basically, circumvent the Tank and save him for last and/or make him eat the Stun so he won't interfear while I deal with his buddies, and if needed, ruin his day at the end.

  • Storm first. Oh wait is that modern? Eh, kill her first anyway.
  • Very funny, but the reason is that sometimes I make some BIG errors in awareness when it comes to who gets to eat the first punch first.

For example, if the set-up is... well, Dakan and Yelena Belova (ala the PvE mission), my first instict is to take out Yelena first, and ignore Dakan even as I accidently create more Strike Tiles, but if I make Daken die first, I have to worry about having my AP stolen and/or eating a Critical hit via Payback Mission

In general I'd kill Yelena first, simply because trying to plink away at a regenerating character is annoying, and you end up with a lot of damage being pointlessly healed -- better to direct that damage against someone else and take out the regenerating character with some big point abilities in one or two shots.
  • Generally, I stun the highest leveled enemy first, then focus my attention on the lowest HP enemy while it is stunned.

That way, when the enemy AI is making matches their 'hardest hitter' isn't doing the damage and it gives me time to build up my AP nukes to take them down.

This is my method too. There were times I had Dakan down to 100HP, but I lacked a finishing move and in just a couple cycles he was up to 700. I like build up the needed AP, bring him to the front, then down him without letting him make a move.

lol, that's my method too. Modern Storm gets very irritating if you leave her too long.

After Storms, I kill the rest in roughly this order:
    -characters who heal others
    -characters with stuns
-characters who have high damage low AP attacks
-characters who steal AP *I kill these earlier if it looks like they are gaining enough AP to carry out their AP stealing attack
-characters who heal themselves *I often leave these until I have enough AP for big attacks, so they don't just heal all the damage

If I'm using a character with an AOE attack, I usually stop attacking an enemy once it's HP is below the damage the AOE does and just leave it to die the next time I use the AOE.
  • CStorm first, then I go for who has the most HP. Get them all to around 2.4k then Sniper Rifle them all.

    Classic Storm first.

After that I figure out who has the cheapest attack powers. Ragnarok is usually an early target, for example, and Iron Man Model 40 generally is last. Characters who need a lot of AP aren't able to pull their powers off because my Hood is leeching.
  • I always try to stun the storm and take out their highest damage asap. However I tend to base my threat assessment on enemy level and what ap is available on the board. In other words, there are variables that determine exactly what I'm likely to do on a match to match basis.
