Should I shield now?

I'm at 544 points/ #8 in my bracket in Fatal Attraction- I have managed to grind until now, but my MMR has gotten pretty high and I can play, like, one in five matches that show up. Should I raise the one-day shield now before the retaliations and attacks from triple 141 players come, or play a bit more and use the 8-hour one? Do you think I'll go down to below 25 or so if I shield too early?(First place in my bracket has 820 points, shielded)
