Funny problem with temporary steal effects

I was doing the current JTH event (Time-Space Catastrophe) and my opponent summoned Enthralling Victor. This card normally has the ability to steal a creature temporarily if there are enough Red gems on board. During my turn, I cast Erratic Cyclops. This is where the weird stuff starts happening:

  1. I cast Erratic Cyclops while my opponent has Enthralling Victor out
  2. This somehow triggers the effect of Enthralling Victor, and I select Enthralling Victor as the target (even though it should be an illegal target, since it has >2 power)
  3. I gain control of Enthralling Victor
  4. The motion of swapping sides triggers Enthralling Victor once again, but only allows me to target my own creatures
  5. I target Erratic Cyclops and nothing happens
  6. At the end of turn, I keep control my Enthralling Victor, but my Erratic Cyclops goes to my opponent's side of the field
  7. This control swap is permanent
No clue what just happened, but I was quite tickled by it.

Do you happen to recall the name of the opponent Planeswalker that you were facing at the time?

This is a PVE event. I presume only one opponent in this event has Enthralling Victor in their deck. Should be easy for the team to figure this one out.
