The defiler bundle - is it odd to give a human??

The defiler bundle gives three cards (as is normal at this time), however the mythic kills all non-demon creatures in play (if it mamages to give damage to opponent PW).

 I think it is odd to include a human guildmage in the bundle, when the effect of the GM requires it to be on the table to utilise the effect. Is there a combo that I’m missing?

    In bundles with extra cards you are not necessarily intended to always use those same cards together.

    @James13 - true, but I don’t see the purpose of buying this bundle when the cards are useless in the same deck.

    Rafter Demon is the only non-mythic RNA demon.  I guess they could have ignored the guild theming of the pack and just given nothing?

    The defiler needs nothing else to justify its purchase, the card is bonkers by itself, a plaguewind on a stick (just run no other creatures) is bizarre. It's odd that it kills the human, but hey, what else would the put in there? And my guess is that the promotion image needs to seem full of stuff.

    It's always been like this for the other packs. The Exclusive, the Guilds/Allegiance guild mage card, and the uncommon split card.

    I'm also thinking run this Rakdos with some cheap creatures that do unpleasant things when they're destroyed... and the Rafter Demon. Checking to see how bills shake out before I buy it, but I'm excited.

    They are thematic bundles. Of course the Rakdos Cult Mage would be part of the Rakdos theme bundle.

    @Brakkis - true if the bundle was called the “Rakdos cult bundle” but it is called the “Defiler bundle”. Rakdos the defiler is the only defiler in the game, so they can’t bundle that much with Rakdos. Since Rakdos is a demon I just thought that cards in the bundle should be working together which I think is the case in most bundles.

    that is why I started this thread. Apparently, I was alone with this perception, who would have thought that?

    @Jain - well they could have put in cards that paired with Rakdos, like a demon or a spell that helped get Rakdos on the board or a support that boosted Rakdos once he made his appearance, like haste, but they chose a few cards that most likely will never get paired with Rakdos.

    They could have called it the "Hoodeehoodeehoo Bundle" and it would still be themed around the Cult of Rakdos.

    @Brakkis - funny. Didn’t we already get a Cult of Rakdos bundle in the first week?
