add PvE as a factor in season scoring

So I'm pretty much a PvE player, always have been and always will be. I recently had to part ways with a pretty cool alliance since they were on the cusp of getting into the top 100 of Season 1 and I've only got about 4000 points to contribute.

However, I'm very active in PvE. If my PvE efforts were a factor in season scoring, I could have made a much more significant contribution to the alliance.

I think adding PvE scoring to season scoring would also help with feelings of burnout. I know I felt obligated to play in every event, PvE because I wanted to and PvP because I had to.

Right now, a person can skip all PvE events while focusing strictly on PvP and will be a highly desirable member of an alliance so long as their season score is good. I think it's only fair that the reverse is possible as well.

I think this is a nice suggestion. I don't believe it would be possible to apply this retroactively though.
  • Yes, that would be extremely nice. Even if they only gave us a percentage as not to explode the season scores. Say 10% of something.

Or perhaps a set number of points based on Ranking? Say 1000 points for 1st place, 750 for top 10, 500 for top 50, and so on. I'm just throwing numbers around here, but sort of an average of the equivalent PvP scores.

    No. No, no, no, no.
There's too many season events as it is, we don't need additional pressure on to score well in PVE too.

Terrible idea. There are already too many events in season, and the points are not similar. People are already at the verge of burning out in reason of too many events you have to compeet in to gain points for the alliance ranking in season, please do not add to it.

It doesn't need to both at the same time. Have a Season One PvE, and either the current PvP doesn't count toward Season One, or there isn't a current PvP. Sure, not everyone would be happy with a change like that, but any type of variety helps with burnout. And as the OP says, while the current PvP players are fine with the current situation, throwing a bone to the PvE players would bring more people together.
  • What about just having a PvP season and a separate PvE Season?

The issue with PvE is that you can "game" the system more. Also rubberbanding is an unfair factor. Also, if you are unable to play in the final two hours then you are always going to place badly which means the end times will be a huge factor and would have to be distributed throughout the day over the course of the season so as to give all time zones the same disadvantage.

Has ANY event ended at 5-6 am US time? I'm going to guess NO, so until they make PvE finish times more fair I don't see how they can be included in as a season event. At least in PvP the shield system exists. PvE does not have any method of protecting your rank when you are not playing.

Very much this, and this is coming from a consistently top 10-scoring PvE player.

We don't need to see the same score inflation in PvE as seasons have caused in PvP. The play environment is too high-pressure as it is.
  • PvE season and PvP season separately is a cool idea.

If you don't play enough during the PvEs, you do not get the new covers. And you have to perform high so as to make sure you get all 3...

Not sure that PvEs are less stressful than PvPs...
  • The first problem to overcome is that you got to standardize points across PvE events somehow.
