Creature slots on PW
I very rarely go above 4 creatures in my deck usually stay at three.
So why does the new PW all have the ability to include so many creatures? Is it necessary for lower tier matches.
can someone give an example where you have used more than 4 creatures?

Its always been like that. In the beginning it wasn't really understood how the 3 creature limit would mess with deckbuilding. Nowadays its probably because they base deck limits on the older walkers.
The old Nahiri Zoo deck (and variations thereof) was a top tier deck that ran 6 creatures or so, so there is definitely a use for the extra slots. Just not often.0 -
Fine, so it is not just me who has I reason for it.
So I wonder what the developers are thinking with these PW. Ah, well that happens way to often these days. 😝0 -
As starfall said, mastery. Also for Cycling in legacy?

@BigSwifty - but mastering is not usable in the long run, if Brigby statement is taken at face value.
Cycling?!? who is using that stinking pile any longer? There is one event that demands it and boy is it a bore with the current nerf in place. Regardless I only include 4 creatures there anyways, the cycling cards tends to be spells.0 -

I recall being in bronze level and needing all those extra creature slots to run defenders/berserkers since you don't always have access to a plethora of other creature removal options.Either way, I'd rather have access to run more creatures and not use it than need those slots for some reason later (maybe if they introduce an objective of "cast no non-creature cards)1

And if I where to guess I expect the mastering system will completely disappear when player level is implemented since you don’t need two systems to match players, but this last part is pure speculation.0 -

@starfall - ok, you are right it was not Brigby who said it, it was the developers in the blog from the 30th of January.
PLANNED ADDITIONS
As mentioned in our previous updates, we have plans involving additional game modes, not just events. Those will provide experience gain for Player Levels without being tied to card mastery. Yes, card mastery is, as of this moment, the only way of raising your level, but won’t be for long. Our main focus right now is designing a functional and rewarding “Season”-based game mode.
...
The new matchmaking system for the Season content is intended to be more balanced and fair, and should NOT consider color mastery as the main method of matchmaking (as it’s currently present in the game)
...
All of these new systems are currently in design/development and should become progressively available throughout the year.

I have looked but I have not more time now to look for the post where something like this was stated. “Why are you so concerned about the initial placement? Don’t you know that mastering cards will be a very small part of your future XP?”
@starfall - If you can recall where it was stated on the forum then feel free to link to it. But has been communicated more than once that the players are misunderstanding the XP system and just wait it will be so good.
edit - BTW I’m not saying we get less XP from the mastering, I’m saying that it will account for a much smaller part of the total XP received by a player. AND I expect it to be removed because it will be irrelevant!0 -
