we DO NOT NEED A LOOP TIMER. we need less bugs, new events, and better communication.
I have bought every exclusive, bought crystals, supported new players, lead teams to top 10 finishes for 3 years.
no more. DO NOT WANT. do not need.
sorry friends. They ruined it

Now with patch 3.3 this game get nuked away, and only veterans see it comming. Narrow minded dev. team looking around making some really stupid videos and arguing why they can't stop this nuke before it happens.
Same ignorance hurt before, with Player Experience disaster, distatefull duel deck events or earlier austerity.
I hate those ignorance! And I definitely not paying to be ignored.
Anybody here feel the same?

And you don't have to be in developer business to know how narrow this solution is.

Someone needs to get WotC to watch this video1

Even if these changes wind up only harming the game a little bit in the long run (I predict they'll shut the game down but even if they dont), it's a clear gesture that the developers are not listening nor care about how this community feels.

@Brigby
Credit where it’s due, you at least have the problem accurately captured in the title of this thread you merged. Please convey our concerns to the dev team. This move feels like a betrayal of the highest magnitude. Something I’ve loved for 3 years now is being ruined by decisions that were unequivocally made without any consultation or consideration of how the people it affects most actually feel about it: US!!! THE PLAYERS!!!
To say that this is being done FOR us comes across as though Oktagon is telling us we just don’t know what is good for us. It feels like the team is completely out of touch with reality and it makes me want to yell and curse and gnash my teeth so much that I’ve had to rewrite this post about ten times to make sure it’s civil enough that you won’t just write it off as angry nonsense.
Please, please, PLEASE let them know how unhappy we are about this. I can guarantee, it won’t change one bit even after we are able to see how it plays in real life.1 -
Now with 90s everything is right now. Isn't it?
I like the part that the playerbase stand side by side on this issue and yell 'we are the people/player'. This really reminds me of my past in eastern germany, where silly solution of the 'head' meet the 'body' interest.
I will watch how this issue and other issue are handled. Instead of easter germany I can easily quit.

everything is not right - the timer is still unwanted and unneeded - instead of fixing degenerate cards and broken things, they put a new broken system on top of it AND SLOWED DOWN THE GAME
the timer enables degenerate things to happen that couldn't happen before (Olivia + infinite token card draw) etc
I WANT bug fixes, new events for coalitions, and card/planeswalker balance changes
NERF blue, boost Depala2 -
Not listenening =/= getting whatever you want or not getting what you don't want.Sometimes Magic changes its rules. A lot of people complained when the commander format changed its rule so you could put your general back in the command zone if it would be tucked into your library. Also once upon a time unused mana in the paper game used to deal you damage at the end of your turn, tapped artifacts got turned off, and their effects no longer applied.Sometimes new rules are added in, sometimes old rules are done away with, usually the person running the game does it because they think it's better for the game all around. No one wants to be on the other side of a deck that goes and goes forever and makes you force close the app... then spend 3 minutes loading the game all over again.1

I don't see a real problem with the loop prevention system. A few more games with crazy combos in legacy isn't going to really change much. Just as with the cardboard, we'll have to start anticipating a metagame (as we should already do with cards like Em or with Hazoret's Delpoy).
The real problem as I see it is the neglect. So many cards don't function as intended or have bad interactions with other cards in ways which don't make sense. Worse yet, we have no way to know about those landmines until after we spend (too much?) money on them. I drool over imagining which cards I'd like to use then break my bank to make it happen... only to wait until after a new set arrives before any sign of solutions even being mentioned.
If you continue to make disappointment something to be expected then you will lose players' trust completely before you instantiate your feature promises.1 -
a deck that goes and goes forever you can concede
making unprecedented changes to core functionality is not the same as refining/updating gameplay
ending a gameplay phase arbitrarily based on time/#actions is bad design
if they fix bugs and balance over/under powered cards appropriately the game would print money0 -

Also, loading times on this game are attrocious.0 -

Correct if I am wrong but in Paper Magic a way long turn isn't over instantly and an endless loop comes way more elegant to an end. Of course not usable here because there is no judge and ne real life opponent that can choose a number.
