Hoarding Taco Tokens - Yea or Nay?

Historically, I hoarded for the guaranteed 4* cover pull. Ever since BH and later cover saving became a thing, the need for that has diminished somewhat. But I still hoard for that same reason. It can save a bit of hassle trying to acquire covers for any RNG-screwed builds you have.

And now that I have most 4* pretty well covered (except for the new and limited ones, they're mostly at 9-13 covers if not champed), I don't have to feel bad if I use that hoard to get a missing cover for one of the worse 4*s.

I've never hoarded tacos because of the super long ROI.  Let's say you hoarded 300 tokens for each Taco vault, that would take 200 Days or 6.5 months.  If you then clear out both vaults, your reward for hoarding that long is 2 x LTs, 4 x 4*s, 8,000 HP plus a ton of ISO, Health Packs, 2* and 3* champ rewards.  For 6 months of hoarding, I would be disappointed.
This assumes you pull the entire thing when you pull.  If you stopped once you achieved a certain goal, getting the LT for example, then each following hoard is smaller depending on your RNG.  For example if you were to pull the LT on the first pull, your next hoard would literally just be waiting for the next cycle.  The only way you'd have to wait the full 6.5 months is if you pull it dead last.  This can be avoided by setting a limit, say pull no more than 100, then you limit your restock to a little more than 2 months which is more manageable.

That's my goal with Taco hoarding, though I've never actually made it to 300, some resource emergency always comes up where I break the glass to get resources.  I'm currently at 168/120, I think my highest ever was around 220.

Another thing I've done in the past to try and limit hoard breaking is hoarding in one vault, and opening as the come in the other.  Get a mix of both worlds.  Though I'm currently not doing this.

I hoarded for the same reasons, but the problem is that they never put the newer 4*s in those vaults (because they're held out of the Crashes until they're no longer particularly new). So I end up just storing the tokens for an eternity, because there are never any 4* covers in there that I remotely care about. I should really just cash them in until getting the LT, as someone else above suggested.

Dang it, @Dormammu ! After reading some of the previous posts (especially @StevO-J 's) I was leaning towards going for it (which was my initial inclination, anyway). But now after reading yours, I'm torn again.

Hoarding for a 4* could be used to supplement the BH mechanism, but is that worth it? I don't think it is.
I was never looking for it as a way to accelerate my LLT gains (for reasons you very concisely stated), simply for "that one" 4*, that white whale.
You're right, however, we already have a way method to get "that one" - it's the Bonus Hero.

Besides, I can't argue with the sound logic of a fellow Minnesotan. ;)

I'll keep pulling tacos and see if I can't make some improvements somewhere else, instead.

    Thank you, All!
Keep in mind, the BH will get you that cover, but it cannot guarantee the correct color.  If you are looking to finish shield training and need to get someone to 209, having 4 saved covers doesnt do you any good.

Remember, there is *literally* no difference between pulling as you go vs hoarding, in terms of all the other rewards, for someone in your position.  Pulling 15 every 5 days vs 90 every month will net you the same roster impact.  The only difference is you may be able to circumvent rng, which is the reason we hoard other stuff.
