Player levels/experience were not granted correctly with the release of 3.2.

Given what players have discovered about card experience and the amount of experience required for each player level, I believe that the retroactive leveling process was not implemented correctly.

There are some gaps in our crowd sourced leveling data and some major inconsistencies in card experience but I stand behind my statement that levels were not granted correctly.

Currently the highest level player I have seen in game or been in contact with otherwise is level 43. Based on the number of cards those players have mastered and the communities assumed numbers for leveling, level 43 should not be the highest level rewarded with the 3.2 update.

Here is a quick breakdown:
It is assumed that to reach level 43 it would take 99,300 experience.

It is also assumed that cards, at a minimum, give 40, 80, 160, and 320 experience (for each rarity respectively) when mastered.

Now, lets look at my own player profile as an example:
I am currently level 38. It is assumed that it would take 64,300 experience for me to reach this level.

I have the following number cards of each rarity mastered:
Common
232
Uncommon
204
Rare
206
Mythic Rare
158
Masterpiece20
When you factor in the value of each mastered card from above, you will find that I have 115,520 experience worth of mastered cards. This is nearly double the amount of experience it should take to reach level 38. In fact, it should put me above the highest level I have seen. I have a coalitionmate with 2,013 cards mastered and he is only level 41. There is no way this is correct.

Well, if it is “correct” then please explain the method for ending up with the result that matches the description above.

Not to forget that we only can assume the xp a card gives (see your other thread)
Even using the lower values my level is far off the level it should be. This is madness.

    This.

They intentionally under leveled veteran players to allow us to level up more readily in the future.

I still don't get it though.  We can't level up already mastered cards.  And I've yet to see them actually follow through on their future plans for stuff (remember when they said we would be able to get orbs outside of duplicate cards?).

They really screwed the pooch on this one

If each level takes an increasing amount of experience, a veteran might not level even if he mastered every card in Ravnica Alliegance. Plus they did state that they nerfed the leveling rewards veteran players got when compared to a player getting there through this new system naturally.

So considering that, do you really want to give up on later rewards just to have a bigger number now?

Also weren’t crafting orbs from the previous developer? I don’t see a reason to condemn them for what those who did before them did.

Crafting orbs was one of the first, if not the very first, things that Oktagon did after taking over from Hibernum. That said, while I can concede that this is not a bug given what the blog post states, I still think they need to seriously reconsider the stance they are taking here.
