Undocumented Changes

Every update, it seems, there are changes made to the game that are not mentioned in any official post, in game message, or patch notes list.  Sometimes the changes are minor (like AI playstyle changes) and it isn't a big deal, but other times (like in the recent 3.2 update) there are major changes that are made that leave the player base (us) confused and upset.

@Brigby I know you aren't always given all of the information either, but could you please stress to the team that we want to be told about ALL changes that go into each update?  Even if you just put another spoiler bar in the patch notes post with a "misc updates" tag where everyone who doesn't care can ignore it.  It would greatly reduce the amount of erroneous bug reports and angry questioning that happens after each update (most notably here the standardization of "cast" vs "summon" and the change to how card XP is gained for mastery)

Thanks.

@Mburn7When we write up Release Notes, we try to have them be as accurate and detailed as possible, but you're right that info does sometimes unintentionally slip through the cracks. Like you said, occasionally it's a small change that's not a huge deal, but when an impactful change is accidentally omitted, then I can certainly understand how frustrating that can be for players.

This is definitely a topic I'll be sure to bring up with the team, so we can look into the information compilation process to see where we can improve it. Thanks for bringing this topic up!

This is probably one of those topics where I tend to side with the developers... well, or at least share the pain in being accurate on this.

Sometimes we change something and expect that it won't have an actual impact on the users. And... sometimes it works, other times we don't realize the entire impact and boom! you end up with bugs because of unforeseen dependencies and interactions.

Other times you try to incorporate a change while implementing another specific story or bugfix, and you either don't capture that change in the description of that story/bugfix, or it's simply not translated into the release notes (since I can see the release notes bugfixes are most likely just a list of fixed bugs titles going into the upcoming release).

So I share the frustration of some changes, I am certain that there are things not captured in the release notes that could be there, but I also get why this is a touchy touchy never perfect system.

Oh I get all of that, which is why I said a lot of the minor things aren't a huge deal.

But I have to assume that the major ones are known as such ahead of time.

Changing how much Mastery XP you get from fights?  That's an intentional change.  Should be in the notes.

Finally made "Cast" vs "Summon" consistent?  That's an intentional (and much asked for) change.  Should be in the notes.

Stuff like Ambuscade being useless because it now relies on base power instead of buffed power isn't a big deal if it happens by accident when implementing a new card.  But some things should absolutely be noted in the notes.
