Vivien’s second ability vs. prevent damage [Fixed in 3.2]

I just used nature’s purification (in this case ”kill target creature with flying”) on a fresh Avacyn, who still had her prevent damage buff. The ability triggered, but avacyn just sat there and took it like a champ. There was no other effects or triggers, battle log just says “used nature’s purification”, end of story. The only thing I can think of is this is a remnant of the prevent damage bug that negated kill spells for a bit.
