Changes to Heroic Event on Last Day?

I noticed three changes to the Heroic Event that have just occurred on the last day of said event.

1. Iron Man (Model 35) is now getting the same buff as Iron Man (Model 40)
2. Buffed characters have their health increased (this is in the patch notes)
3. Black Widow (Modern) is now locked from playing (She is still listed in the description of the event)

Why make these changes on the last day of an event? I can sorta see the reasoning for #2 as it was part of R42, but why the other two changes?

1 - Bug that was not addressed until now as it also required a client side change.
2 - New feature that required a client side change.
3 - Bug that we are looking into. I'm unsure if we can flip a bit server side before the end of this event.

The thing to note is that with the way events chain off of one another, and often have multiples running, there is never really a good time to push out an update so that it doesn't affect anything.

At or near the beginning of an event would be better than at the end of an event, if that's possible for future patches/changes.

i believe from what i've seen they push out patches when its ready, disregarding date/event. as long as its not friday because if their's problems, they can't fix as quickly during the weekend. and this is one of the few events that have ended randomly on a monday.

Again, they have to wait on Apple (and to a lesser extent, Google) to approve the update. That takes about a week on average from what I've heard. Apple does provide an "expedited" review process that can take as little as 24 hours, but that's supposed to be reserved for app breaking issues and you can only do it once every month and a half or so (again, from what I've heard). I don't know if Google has a similar thing, but their process typically doesn't take as long anyway.
