Damage under Nahiri ult effect is off

Not sure if this is isolated to TDW event, but I was playing the southeast node (Bolas) using Nahiri. I brought Jodah out on my turn, then Greg brought out Zetalpa on his turn. Back to my turn, Jodah triggers and makes things cheap, I used Nahiri's ult to reinforce Jodah 4 times making Jodah now a 25/20. Combat starts and Zetalpa hits Jodah for 4 damage on the first of his double strike, then simultaneously Jodah hits Zetalpa for 8 (has trample) and Zetalpa hits Jodah for another 4, killing Zetalpa and bringing Jodah down to 25/12. The reinforcement fades and Jodah should go back to 5/4 but instead dies, because I assume the damage was taken from base toughness before taken from reinforcement toughness. I would guess this is related to the changes made to non-card reinforcements in 3.0?
